“You’re my mate” Blades announcement played over and over in Tessa's head.
“Fuck” she muttered staring at the computer screen in front of her.
If the poor little kids situation wasn't bad enough, now it just got messier. And now there was no way a he she could present reports to the counsel as an impartial voice.
“Fuck” she repeated.
“Everything okay?” “Alpha Sutherland asked from the door.
“How did you know?” she asked him bluntly.
“I recognised the signs, anyone who had been near you smelt good to him”.
“There's no I can claim to be unbiased now, either way, I feel like I have let my first client down before I can begin to help”.
“It's not your fault Tessa. The Goddess gives us challenges for a reason” he replied gently.
“You know your the second person to mention the goddess to me this week. Oh my god! I think I have an idea! Would you be willing to pay for flights from the UK?” Tessa asked excitedly.
“Perhaps if you tell me why?” The Alpha replied with a baffled expression.
“Priscilla, my trainer. She mentioned wanting to see Australia. If she came out on a working holiday she could take over with Dagger!” Tessa imparted.
“I could do that. But I would ask something of you in return” the Alpha responded.
“This is for your family Alpha, not for me.” Tessa replied firmly.
“All I ask is you give Blade a chance. I know he has a messy history. But he has changed. Please don't reject him based on his past”.
“I appreciate what you are trying to do Alpha, but your technique sucks” Tessa replied unable to hide her annoyance. “Blade needs to focus on Dagger right now and you need to focus on the conflict with Armstrong. Anything else, mates or not, will need to wait”. She said brushing past him on her way out the door.
Andrew stared in shock as Tessa walked out of the building, then started chuckling. “She will make a spectacular Luna” he said to the doctor and his frozen mate, before following her out the building.
“Well at least she didn't call him a meathead” Tim commented with a laugh.

Blade wanted to get drunk. Why now? Why when he was reeling from the shock of having another kid. A kid that might cause a war. What kind of mate comes with an ex and 2 kids plus a third to another she-wolf. She was going to reject him, ke knew it.
He didn't even realise he was crying to Daggers gentle fingers wiped at the tears running down his face.
“I love you Dagger, no matter what Daddy's always going to be here for you”. Blade vowed wrapping his arms around his son.
“He knows” Andrew spoke from the door.
“ I don’t mean to interrupt but you’re broadcasting your misery to the pack”.
“I am sorry Uncle Andrew” Blade replied mentally withdrawing the pack. Think the little guy and I might go for a walk”.
Andrew sighed as he walked back to his office, he was failing in his attempts to ease his poor nephews path. It was time to confess all and bring in the big guns.
Sitting at his desk he reached for the phone and dialed. After a few rings the call was answered. “ Hello brother, what do you need?”
“Mary good to hear your voice. What makes you think I need anything?”
“You only ring me when you do Andrew, so what's wrong?” she replied with a sigh.
“I need you here Mare, I am just making a mess of things” he sighed.
“What on earth do you mean?”
“Blade found his mate, he thinks she is going to reject him. And if he doesn't keep his shit together he’ll lose the kid to Armstrong”.
“Oh goddess!” Mary exclaimed “Who is the lucky she-wolf?”
“Human” he corrected “Its Torrents little girl”.

“I don't know what to” Tessa confessed to Priscilla on the screen.
“Do you need to do anything?” Priscilla replied.
“Look I’ll be there in a few day and we can talk more in person. Are any of your other cases emergencies?” she asked.
“Not that I am aware of”. Tessa answered thinking of the requests in her inbox.
“Well you have two choices then. Go home to your mum and dad or stay there and see how things go. You don't have to rush into any decisions Tessa. Get to know the man behind the gossip before you make such a huge decision”.
“Thanks Pree. I’ll see you soon”.
After shutting down her computer Tessa, feeling restless, decided to go for a walk. Aidyn was the assigned escort for the day.
