Justin had left the night he had placed Baby Dagger in Blades arms. He had promptly packed up his camp leaving two bags and a carseat.
He had even barely noticed Tom directing him towards a car until he took the blanketed bundle out of his arm and placed him in the car seat. That night he fell asleep in a car beside the portacot that someone in the pack had set up in his room. Two weeks later Doc Evans had confirmed that the toddler was indeed his son via DNA. Blade hadn't denied it, but Uncle Andrew had wanted to make sure.
“Hello Dagger. How are you feeling today?” Doc Evans asked the twenty month old. He was worried by the blonde haired boys lack of response?.
“Is eating and sleeping okay?” he asked Blade. “ I am having trouble getting him to eat, but he is taking bottles with the toddler aged formula you recommended” he replied.
“I think it's best that we book you guys in with our new psychologist as soon as she gets back. If things have improved in the next 5 weeks, feel free to cancel but this amount of upheaval in a pups life could cause some developmental issues” Doc Evans suggested “I spoke to Bowen and he said that he was a happy, talkative little boy the last time he saw him in the Armstrong clinic”.
“Thanks Doc, that would be great” Blade replied.
“You're probably looking at 6 weeks before she can see you, she currently in Europe getting some additional training from a pack psychologist over there” Evans warned him. “In the meantime I would like to see him fortnightly”.
“That's fine doctor” Uncle Andrew answered were happy to pay for extra clinic days. Blade why don’t you two head back up and I will organise things here”.
Both men watched as Blade gathered up his son and left the room. “So what did you need to see me about? We both know very well that its not to book a clinic” Doc Evans asked.“Is it true the psychologist is Rick Torrents human girl?” Andrew inquired not beating around the bush.
“Yes Tessa Torrent is the psychologist. Do you have an issue with the Torrent pack? I can assure you that her ethics are sound and she’ll uphold both pack and individual confidentiality.” Evans stated defending the girl both he and Rochester had a great fondness for.
“No it's not that…’ Andrew trailed off trying to think how to express his concerns.
“Is it because she is human? I can assure you she has spent most of her childhood in the Torrent pack.” Doc Evans quieted when Andrew held his hand up indicating him to stop.
“When Blade spoke to Torrent at the council he thought he was wearing a nice cologne” Andrew informed him.
“You think Tessa is his mate?” Doc Evans surmised.
“I think it's a distinct possibility, yes”
“It could be. It could also be either of her brothers or the guards that attended” Doc Evans reasoned.
“No offence Evans but fathering three children outside mating would indicate he doesn't lean that way”
“I didn't either till I met my Tim”. Evans confessed.
“If my suspicion is correct and the young lady is indeed his mate. Do you think she she would be able to accept him and his past, would she accept the pup to raise?”
Doc Evans pondered the question for a minute before giving his answer. “Honestly Alpha, out of all the females I know, regardless of species, Tessa has the biggest heart and capacity to love. She is practically a third parent to her brothers and is adored by her whole pack even though she doesn’t see it. She would make an amazing Luna”.
