Chapter 10

About 2 and a half weeks after my discharge I was stuck at home but I would go to Anteiku if Arima wasn't a home. The infection had healed but it still hurt to walk so I couldn't walk around. I was sitting on the couch and I get a call "Yasha I need you to lock the doors and hide in a dark place until I come back" I was worried "Arima whats going on?" "A ghoul has just killed Mado in the sewers and you need to hide" "Crap. I'm going now" I hung up the phone and headed to my room got out of my wheelchair which hurt so much and sat in the closet the I heard the door open "Mumma I need help!!" It was Hinami "Hinami I'm in my room and I cant move well "Mumma I did something horrible" I heard her yell "Hold on I'm coming" I try to get in the wheelchair and make it to the loung room where I saw Hinami and Touka "I'm sorry Mumma, he tried to hurt me" I look at them with blood on their clothes "Its alright Hinami, I thought he was creepy and he had it coming" I say "Miss Natsumi we need to hide" Touka said "Um well up in my room theres some clothes and i'll throw the others in the bin but you need to be quick because Arima will be here soon" they ran to my room and I lock the door and wait before I made it up to my room and theyre both changed "Put the clothes under my bed and huddle in the closet and wait with me until Arima comes" we all get in the closet "Thank you Mummafor helping us" Hinami was holding on to me "I cant begin to thank you enough Natsumi san" Touka said "Don't worry. I promised to protect ghouls so I'm helping you now be quite because Arima is here" we all sat in the dark until I heard Arima run upstairs "Yasha?! Where are you?!" I heard him "I'm in my closet" he opened my door then the closet "You're alright" He helped me into my wheelchair "Hinami you're here too? is this your friend?" they get up and we make our way to a chair in my room "Hinami and Kirishima came over to comfort me then you called and we hid together" I said and Arima walks up to Touka "Nice to meet you Kirishima san" he shook Toukas hand "Same here" they both sit down "Arima can take Hinami and Kirishima to Anteiku" I say "Yes my love but you're coming with us" "Ok Arima. Kirishima and Hinami head down to the car" they nod and head to the door and Arima pushes me to the car and we all get in and Arima drives to Anteiku and when we arrive we all make our way in the café "Arima can you sit me by the bar" "Of course" He pushes me over to the bar then he walked off outside and the manager "Hello Natsumi" "Hey Manager. They're safe and there's no lead on them." I whisper "Thank you Natsumi san" "Could I get a latte" then I point to my side and he nods "I'm wondering why it still hurts to walk. the infections gone but its painful" could you try right now?" he was making the coffee and I got out of the wheelchair and took a few steps but hiss in pain and hold onto the bench "So where is it most painful" "Near where in infection was and the back of where it was" I walk over back into the chair "Hm. I cant tell you whats wrong so I suggest going to a doctor but heres your coffee" I took a sip and felt much better so I got up to try and walk again and I could without as much pain "That's much better, thank you Manager." "Anytime Natsumi san" I went back in the chair "I better go before Arima gets scared about me being out after the new ghoul attack. Please tell Hinami not to worry and I'll visit soon" "I will. See you next time Natsumi" I make my way out to the car "Arima can we go to the office. Its safe there and I want to be there for the announcement about whats going to happen about Mado's death. Plus I want to see people" I look at him with my cute eyes "I guess so but you'll need to walk through while they scan the wheelchair" "I'll manage Arima now lets go!!" he drove off to the 20th ward's branch office. It was alright to be out of the wheelchair and Arima kept worrying and after it was done I made it to the elevator and we made it to the offices for the investigators and I made my way to Amon but was stopped by many people asking about how I was and how the recovery is going and of course I said it was going well but I made it to Amon "Amon san!!" I saw him and he looked horrible "Natsumi san. How are you?" "I wheel over ot him "Don't worry about me, worry about yourself" I park my chair next to him "As soon as I heard the news I came here." I gave him a hug "You're so sweet Yasha" he hugged me back "It felt so surreal when I saw him dead. if I wasn't fighting that eyepatch I could have saved him" he was holding back his tears "Let it out Amon. It will feel better. I wasn't your fault he died. Don't blame yourself" I wipe his tears away "You're back from being away due to an injury yet you still put others before yourself." "Its because what happened to me isn't as bad as what happened to you" I say "You're defiantly the mother of here" he said composing himself "Make sure you don't push yourself to hard Yasha. Can you leave for a moment. I want to collect my thoughts" he said looking up "Of course Amon" I took my leave and went down to the hallway and I bumped into Shinohara "Hello Shinohara" he looked down "Oh Yasha san! Fancy seeing you here because Arima said you where going to be off for a while" he said shaking my hand "Yeah well I wanted to check on Amon" "Fair point. Anyway why are you stuck in a wheelchair and off work?" he asked "Well I'm on a holiday and you remember when I was a child I was attacked by a ghoul? Well it got infected and now I cant walk well" he looks at me "That's horrible Yasha. I hope you recover soon" he gave me a pat on the head and pushed me to the café "So Shinohara any new rookies coming in soon?" I said after ordering a coffee "My new partner should be meeting em here soon and theres another female joining us to replace Mado" "Well she better not affect Amon's work" I sat taking a sip of my coffee "She wont" he chuckled "That's good. Anyway who's your new partner?" "A boy who just graduated from the Academy named Juuzou Suzuya. Oh there he is over there" He waved at this 'boy' "Shinohara, are you sure that's not a girl" he giggled "No hes a boy" and Juuzou walked over "Hello Shinohara. Hello Miss" his voice didn't help the confusion "Hello Suzuya san I'm Natsumi" I shook his hand "Nice to meet you Natsumi san. Hey Shinohara don't we have a meeting now?" he looked at Shinohara and h looked at his watch "Oh we do. Sorry to cut this short but we have to go" Shinohara looked at me "Its alright. Now hurry up before its you're late" The two boys walked off leaving me to my coffee
