Glenn and I have been watching old recorded movies on the television for some time using up the power limit but nonetheless continued. He said he didn't want to go home...

Yoongi was going to be back an hour after lunch and the current time was 11:41 pm. I hoped that within the hour; the boys walked through the door...

Before one of the actors could say the punchline to the joke; the power kicked off. The AC fan slowed down as the room was darkened, the only light being the white emergency lights set up in the far corner of the room.

"What happened?"

We both shifted, our eyes skimming the dimly lit room; trying to adjust.

"I don't know... the power grid is quite old, it happens... sometimes?"

I tried to reassure, but I was new to it; I was the one usually being comforted, not the other way around.

The last time the power went out was when I was seven, I barely remember the day but I know it happened.

"I never noticed the power going out before..."

'Oh, right. You were only one year old...' I thought to myself whilst getting up and shuffling lazily to the door, ignoring Glenn's comment. I slid the chain before opening it; being met with a darkened hallway.

I peeked my head out, looking left and right, seeing the neighbours doing the same thing as some of them walked out; confused.

"What's going on?"

"What happened to the AC?"

People's spoken thoughts were interrupted when loud crashes were heard above us; which seemed impossible considering how far down we were, the cement separating us but the sound still managed to be heard, most likely through the air vents.

"Jungkook?"

Glenn came out, startled when he heard the crash, my hand resting on his shoulder so he wouldn't exit the room.

"It's okay."

People were starting to head up, rushing to the noise using the elevators and stairs; I decided to stay put.

"Where is everyone going? What's happened?"

A man, probably a neighbour, approached me, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes before sweeping a hand through his messed hair.

"Uh... well. The powers out and it sounds like there's commotion on the highe-"

An even louder noise was heard, but this time it much defined and deep, a gunshot? It started to ring through the air ventilation, echoing off of the walls.

The three of us jumped at the almost ear splitting echo, lasting for a couple seconds before it gradually got more quiet.

Glenn was left with his hands covering his ears, the man clutching his chest as I suddenly rushed to the elevator.

"Well, come on!"

Glenn and the stranger rushed to the elevator, as equally curious as I was as the box rapidly accelerated upward.

"It sounded like a gunshot, to me at least."

"I heard the same."

I responded, my voice was shaky but I remained as calm as possible.

'Wait. What was I thinking? I have Glenn with me. God dammit, Jungkook.'

"Hey, stick close, okay? It might be dangerous up there."
