"I wish you well as now we part." Kay walked the halls of the hideout, praying.
She stopped when she heard the distinct sound of Sasuke's Chidori.
"Suki?" She whispered as she walked into the room Sasuke liked to train his aim in.
He turned to her, her head was rested against the doorway, her hand over her bracelet on her left hand.
He knew why she was upset, and on top of that, he knew how upset she was. She had been praying, he noticed.
Sasuke's parents weren't religious at all- conservative, sure but not religious. When Kay told him she was, he thought it silly, thought it was childish for her to try to put her life on the works of a god (or in this case, goddess) that was so obviously fake to him.
Kay believed, nonetheless, she claimed to have had a vision when she was much too young.
"Is there really no other way?" Kay asked in a voice that sounded like a plead.
Sasuke shook his head slowly, "we've talked about this."
Kay clicked her tongue. She knew it was wrong, of course, to feel the attachment she felt towards Orochimaru but she couldn't help it.
Sasuke had truly tried to reason with her, reminding her of who he was and what he did to other people. The ones in cells and cages and water tanks.
She had tried to put it in her head but all she saw was Orochimaru being kind to her- as kind as Orochimaru could possibly be at least. He had always carried her on a shelf, on top of everyone else, even when he had found patient zero for the Curse Mark.
She was considered more important but she also remembered.
There had been a period of time where she was put in the water tank too, how could she not remember?
Orochimaru deserved to die in anyone's eyes but in a way, he was her father. That bond blinded her from the need of justice.
Kay walked towards Sasuke, wrapping her arms around him and sighing into his chest.
Sasuke let her hug him, standing still and motionless.
Kay waited for him to do something but he never did so she removed herself.
"Alright. Be careful." She placed her hands on either side of his face, an action she did too often. "And just for me, Suki, make it fast, please."
Sasuke hummed.
She let go of his face and left the room.
Kay was angry at herself for feeling so devastated, if she wasn't so worried about Sasuke she would've been crying.
But Sasuke was right, she knew that- Sasuke was always right.
Sasuke had also happened to grow to be more important to her than anyone else. She had grown to feel for him more than she had wanted to- more than Orochimaru had wanted her to as well.
Sasuke had a sense of right and wrong that she had never grasped and she longed for it.
So many years she had lived with Orochimaru and he had never taught her to be human. She wanted more, she wanted to feel the things she saw when she passed by small villages.
Kay's hand pressed against the little pocket on the front of her overalls where she saved her little treasures inside a velvet pouch.
Kay stood next to the caged prisoners and waited for the first signal, crouching in front of them.
Water pooled against the metal bars.
"Kay-sama!" One called, suddenly afraid.
"Killmonger."
"What is she doing?" The commotion continued.
She ignored them.
"What are you going to do to us?" One asked as he realized there was water wrapping around.
She shushed them.
"Are you freeing us?" Another asked.
Kay turned to them. "Not if you don't shut your mouth."
A clash was heard on the distance and Kay's hand went back to her beaded bracelet.
The birds of Chidori screeched and she pulled on the bars, they became unhinged.
"Thank you!" They called.
"Did someone else help you?" Asked the one who had asked if they were going to be freed.
"Yes, Uchiha Sasuke." Kay nodded.
Kay did not move from her crouched position.
Would Orochimaru know she was involved? Would he die thinking her a traitor?
"I wish you well for now we part, I follow what is in my heart. Each must walk our separate way, our union over on this day." She prayed.
She was startled by someone placing their hand on her shoulder.
The water formed a sharp edge above her, ready to attack.
"Let's go." Sasuke said.
She made a face like she was going to cry, scaring Sasuke. She covered her face with her hands for a second as she composed herself.
"Alright." She nodded and stood up.
Kay left with him, abandoning the only home she had ever really had.
