Kay jumped over the giant monster that clawed at her and landed a knee hit above the head.
The metal on her knee clinked and she walked away from the knocked out animal, Sasuke catching up on her.
"To think I had such a hard time last time around." Sasuke mumbled.
Kay laughed, "you were a child."
He hummed and placed his hand on the small of her back.
She took a step forward and the arrow they had felt coming swished right behind her.
Kay sighed, "come on kid, you don't want to do this."
A boy came out of the trees and stared at them, the bow and arrow in his hands shaking.
"Give me your scroll!" He stuttered.
"Stop shaking, kid. Take in a big breath and steady yourself, even if you're afraid." Kay said.
The boy's breath shook harder.
"Take control of yourself, breathe!" Kay scolded.
The boy did as told, his grip tightening.
"There you go. Now go bother someone else." She said, waving him away.
After they got out of the forest, Kay and Sasuke sat at the top of the stairs, the battlefield grounds full of life as the Shinobi and Kunoichi waited to be assorted to battle against each other.
Kay and Sasuke faced their backs to the battle ground, talking to each other. Naruto sat in a booth with other Kages as the Seventh Hokage, Shikamaru next to him as his advisor.
Kakashi walked in on Kay and Sasuke.
"Full circle, huh?" Kakashi said, walking towards them with his hands in his pockets.
"It feels like it." Sasuke nodded.
The Shinobi acting as referee called the fight and everyone payed attention to who was to battle who next except Kay and Sasuke who were busy having a good talk with Kakashi.
Kay made a few remarks about how truly boring Kakashi must be now because of his age.
Kakashi rolled his eyes at her and told her she was being mean.
The conversation then led on to her asking about Might Guy, who even though she wasn't exactly close to, was someone that regularly came to mind.
They noticed the people's voices come to a silence then start murmuring to each other and Kay turned to hear the referee call the names of the next contestants.
"Next battle is, Uchiha Sasuke versus Uchiha Killmonger!"
Naruto stood from his seat, walking over to the edge of the booth.
Kay turned to Sasuke, a playful smirk on her face.
Sasuke hummed at her and took the hand she offered him.
They went down the staircase holding hands. Everyone was quiet, the sound of their steps filled the air.
When they reached the center of the battle grounds they faced each other.
"Ready," the Shinobi referee raised his arm, "begin!"
Kay and Sasuke didn't do anything, instead they read each other's movements as they walked in a circle, it looked too much like a dance.
When Kay's hands started to feel moist, a single strand of electricity explored Sasuke's. Whenever Sasuke reached for his sword, Kay reached for her kunai pouch.
Kay gave out a laugh, Sasuke gave back a smirk.
"Do something!" Someone said from upstairs.
Kay recognized it as the young stuttering boy they had met earlier.
"You wanna keep dancing, Suki?"
Sasuke rose his head, "you're so dramatic."
Kay smiled and water splashed out from her palms, raising a wall over ten feet tall behind her.
Sasuke's Sharingan switched twice and formed Susannoo.
She clicked her tongue and splashed her water at him, the Susannoo engulfed then tied by it.
Sasuke's Susannoo tore apart the water chains, two swords appearing in its hands.
Kay formed a creature of her own, the three-eyed cat held two short katanas.
Sasuke and Kay ran at each other, their fight creating a turbulence across the land.
It took some blows before they decided to ditch the shields and Kay went to punch Sasuke in the face.
Sasuke stood and side-kicked her.
Kay let out a laugh and ran at him, her arms trapping him in a bear hug.
"I love you, Sasuke." She sang into his ear before she smacked him against the ground.
He pulled her into the hole she made in the ground with him and jumped out himself.
She struggled to get out but when she did, she took momentum to kick Sasuke so hard, he went crashing against a wall.
Sasuke came back out and punched her with an equal amount of force.
People were quiet now, they had started to think it was going on for too long.
Was something going down for real?
Was it something to be stopped?
Naruto was frowning now, worried that maybe, just maybe, the reminder of the Chuunin Exams had done something to Sasuke.
He turned to Shikamaru who nodded at him.
"Call it." Naruto pleaded as Kay and Sasuke kept fighting each other, the referee called it a draw.
Kay stood up first from the ground and stretched her hand to Sasuke who took it as support to stand up.
Medical nin came in and Kay waved them away, asking simply for the healing pomade.
They went up the stairs again and sat on the floor.
Sasuke took off his shirt and let her softly rub the medicine onto his aches.
"You were good." She whispered at him as she kissed his shoulder.
Sasuke smiled over at her.
Naruto looked up at them in confusion, realizing they were just fighting in a competitive way, it seemed so odd to him.
He would never fight like that with Hinata, for example. Train, well that was one thing, but fight was something else.
What they had witnessed was them fighting yet there they were now, whispering to each other like they always did.
They joked and helped each other heal the injuries they'd caused each other.
Kakashi had known they were simply fighting for the tittle of Chuunin and yet still found it strange. Above that, though, Kakashi found it endearing.
Kay lifted her shirt so Sasuke could rub the pomade on her and sighed at the hot feeling against her spine.
Sasuke was blushed as the realization that everyone was watching them do such lovey dovey stuff hit him hard.
"Don't be like that, Suki." Kay complained at his refusal to hold her hand.
She ended up shrugging it off, though, when she reminded herself that regardless on how little PDA they showed, everyone knew they were together.
They were husband and wife, would forever be husband and wife, so she stood proudly next to him as they watched the fights.
She vowed to not worry about it anymore.
