The brown haired boy packed his clothes into his suitcase, the blue fabric of the carryon almost worn out by the many uses its had. He packed his toothbrush, toothpaste, and deodorant. He packed his laptop and electronic things before heading over to his most prized possession. His Canon 7D Mark II.
This camera meant a lot to the boy because he worked hard for it. Doing every possible neighbourhood job he could find, the boy saved up for months for this very expensive camera in order to follow his dreams of becoming a well-known photographer. Don't worry, he didn't buy it because of how expensive it was, he watched many YouTube reviews on the 7D beforehand, knowing that it was the perfect camera for him. It was with him for his last year of high school and will be with him on his way to college. That's right, he's going to be a freshman in college soon. That's why he's packing. The summer is almost over and he is required to move into his dorm. He already met with his dorm mate over the summer to discuss what each of them would bring to contribute to the living space they had. He's required to bring a mini fridge and utensils while his roommate would bring plates and more.
The boy sighed, taking in his room in his family house one last time before taking the camera and placing it around his neck, grabbing his backpack and suitcase and walking out the door.
He reached downstairs to see his mom making breakfast and he sighed again, thinking that it would be a while before he tastes his mother's cooking again. He left his backpack and suitcase near the door before walking to the kitchen and back hugging his mother.
"Oh? Jungkookie, good morning! How was your sleep?" She asked, looking back at the very American breakfast she was making.
"It was fine, how about you Eomma?" He asked politely. The woman turned off the stove, turning to her son.
"Fine. Go set the table for breakfast." He went to do as told, opening cabinets for plates and silverware.
"I noticed that the breakfast isn't Korean. What is it?"
"I found American breakfast recipes online and decided to try it out. Lets hope it tastes okay." They chuckled at the mother's words.
Soon after the table was set, Jungkook's older brother and father came out and they all ate together. The food was surprisingly okay for a beginner. Mrs. Jeon received many compliments on her cooking. After breakfast, Jungkook got up and hugged his whole family individually then as a group hug. His train would be leaving in 2 hours and it takes an hour to get to the station from his house. Mr. Jeon was supposed to take Jungkook since the station was near his workplace, so after the hugs they left, but not without encouraging words from the matriarch of the family.
The drive to the train station was quiet, but comforting. Mr. Jeon occasionally gave Jungkook advice for college, but one piece of advice really stuck to Jungkook and he feels like it'll be with him for a long time. And that advice was;
"Be open to trying new things, except drugs. We don't need you coming back home a crack head alright?"
And Jungkook laughed it off because he knows he would be taking pictures at parties, not drugs.
When they arrived at the station, Jungkook and his father got out the car. The elder made sure Jungkook had his ticket and extra money on him. After that was made sure, the younger was on his way, dragging his suitcase behind him. His ride wasn't for another hour so he sat on a bench.
He took our a pair of headphones that he bought just for this trip and put them in his phone. He went to spotify and put on a playlist he made of Justin Bieber songs last week and leaned back onto the bench.
