What I am about to tell you right now is the story of my life. In my opinion, my story is remarkable and at the same time simply natural. My name is Thanzeela and I am an Indian girl born and raised in the United States. It all started the day after I graduated and finally accomplished my dream of becoming a Neurologist...

" Hey Thanzee!! Wake up you lazy sleepyhead!! It's 10 o'clock!" screamed my mom. I hated waking up early since I was little. I am 23 years old and I am still like that. " Alright!! I'm coming mom!" I replied groggily. As I went downstairs for breakfast, my dad and younger sister were smirking at me. I was curious so I asked, " What? Did I do something?" My dad said," your mom is annoyed at you because you are not doing anything productive in the time that we have."

My sister had to rub salt into the wound. " I totally understand why mom's concerned. I mean I'm working and volunteering while you're a doctor and you're at home." I was pissed off because my sister just graduated high school. So she can literally find a job ANYWHERE. But doctors can't find a job that easily. Plus, we're leaving for India in a few months. So I decided to find a job there. But for right now, I had no idea how to pass the time. " I am still working on it dad. You wanna tell mom that?" I asked nervously. " Sure, but you telling her would be better." said my dad. He was never any help.

" You need to be responsible Thanzee ma. You're of marrying age and still you are lacking response." my mom lectured. "It's fine mom. I'll figure it out once I get there. I'm still a free bird ya know. I'm still young." I said. "Ok. Have it your way then...This came in the mail yesterday. I don't know if this will interest you in any way." suggested my mom. It was a flyer asking for camp counselors at Camp Palm Creek. I don't have anything to do at home so why not check it out? I thought. " Hmmm.. it seems fun. I guess I'll give it a shot... but if I don't like it, I'm coming straight back. Ok??" I asked. " Alright." said my mom.
