When Rin awoke, it was to a stabbing in her belly. She groaned and rolled onto her side, snuggling up the the newborn swaddled between pillows next to her. It let out a squeak and yawned, it's little toes curling. Rin blinked, examining its feathery eyelashes in the sunlight that filtered through the curtains. She sighed, another cramp gripping her stomach. Her breasts started to have stabbing pains as well, she grimaced, whimpering and rolling onto her back once again.

Staring at the ceiling, she realized she must not be pregnant yet, because this was definitely her period. She looked around for her Lord, and saw him at his desk across the room. Rubbing her eyes, she watched him peer through thin silver glasses at a weathered scroll. She admired the slight furrow of his brow, and the concentrated way his eyes scanned the paper. She watched as a tendril of hair fell from behind his ear, and longed to tuck it back. She smiled at his unawareness she was watching.

"Morning M'Lord."

She said this softly, barely audible, yet of course he still heard her. He lowered the scroll, slipped off his glasses, and turned to look at her. He paused for a moment, looking at the baby, before rising and striding over to her side. He gazed down, picking up Rin's hand and gently kissing it.

"Good morning."

He lowered to his knees at the side of the bed, and brushed the hair back from her forehead.

"It seems you slept well."

"Yes."

He absentmindedly played with her hair while looking at the baby.

"Mloooord..." Rin whined, secretly taking pleasure in the way his eyes switched to her.

"Hm?"

"My belly hurtsss..."

"So I've smelled."

He placed a kiss upon her abdomen,

"It would seem nature will make our pup wait."

She blushed, and the child next to her stirred. Sesshomaru watched the newborn stretch it's limbs, before reaching out a clawed finger for the baby to grab. Rin watched him play with the child, her own playfulness bubbling up. She reached out and poked her Lord's cheek. His eyes turned to her again, and quickly he reached out and bit her finger jokingly. Rin giggled. Despite her period, she still desired her Lord. She wondered if he could smell that too.

He stood, placing a quick forehead kiss before opening their chamber door and calling up a maid. Rin watched as he let a servant in, pausing outside the door to speak a few words to them. The servant entered the room shyly, glancing at Rin before disappearing into the bathroom.

"What are they doing?" She asked, sitting up.

"You shall see." He replied, walking to his desk, and starting to clear it.

Rin watched him for a bit, and shortly the maid re-emerged. Sesshomaru spoke again to them in low tones, still preoccupied with the last of his scrolls. The servant then came over to Rin, appearing friendly enough. She gave a small bow and then made to pick up the infant. Alarmed, Rin stopped the maid, but she spoke,

"M'lady, Lord Sesshomaru ordered the child be cared for by us for a bit."

Rin simply nodded, and let the infant be taken out of the room. She trusted the maids, but didn't understand why Sesshomaru wanted the child out of the room.

The maid left and closed the door, and Sesshomaru emerged from the bathroom, giving a soft sigh. He walked over to her bedside again, this time making eye contact.
