Rin woke up to crickets, deep in the middle of the night. She rolled over, looked around the room, searching for her Lord. She scanned the room, her eyes still blurry, finally finding him sitting at his desk. His posture was immaculate, and she watched as he held scrolls up by candlelight to examine their script. He wore a set of small, thin silver spectacles that Rin could've sworn she saw before, but could not recall when.
She watched him, occasionally he would furrow his brow, squint slightly at the scroll. She looked at the quill in the ink bottle, and thought of the ink now under the skin of her forehead. She sat up slowly, still groggy and she could feel her hair was ruffled. Sesshomaru looked up. He looked a moment before giving a slight smirk, and looking back at his scrolls.
"You slept well." He said, his eyes scanning the page held up in front of him.
Rin yawned, slid to the edge of the bed before hopping down and walking over to his desk. There was a small mirror on the one corner, and she leaned over to it, examining her forehead. The tattoo looked perfect, almost exactly like Sesshomaru's. There was a bit of red inflammation around the edge of the design, however, the salve on her forehead was still wet, and there was minimal pain.
"How long was I out for?" Rin said, straightening up and putting her hand on his shoulder.
He set down the scroll. "Not for long. An hour, maybe."
"I was just exhausted." She said, looking down at him.
He looked up at her, the candlelight casting shadows across his desk and face.
"Plus, the smoke..." She trailed off, she still felt a bit spacey.
Not fully high, but just the ghost of the feeling lingered. Rin trailed her eyes up, lazily pulling her hand through his hair. It fell from her fingers strand by strand, gently back onto his shoulders. She watched, then looked back at his face once it had finished falling. She was always mesmerized at how golden his eyes appeared in low light. Most of the time she barely noticed his eye color, but in the candlelight they glistened like yellow topaz.
She felt herself start to blush, she looked down for a moment with a small smile. She watched as his hand raised, gently coming up to cup her chin and raise her gaze to his again. His nails touched her skin, just resting, not hurting in the slightest.
"Look at me." He said in a low tone.
She did, her heart rate raising slightly.
"Do you remember?" He asked, his voice so soft it seemed barely there.
Rin's heart flooded with affection at the memory of their first night together. She was touched he remembered. Their love all started because she was too shy to meet his gaze. Her embarrassment, nervousness at initiating intimacy, aversion to prolonged eye contact. It was all so...enrapturing to her Lord.
\\\\\\\\\ POV Switches to Sesshomaru.
Holding her gaze, he felt his desire for her brewing. He often thought he could drown in her eyes. How was it that something so very simple and human cast such a spell over him? His endless curses at her bewitching could never break the spell. And, if he could be honest about his feelings to the world, he would admit he didn't want it to ever break.
His heart rate quickened, and he removed his hand from her chin, carefully taking off his glasses and casting them aside on his desk. He could still feel the way she had trailed her hand through his hair, and his desire overcame him. Quickly, he circled one arm around her waste, pulling her down to his level on the chair. She sat on his lap, her torso pressed into his, she let out a soft moan and began to kiss his neck. He groaned softly before guiding her one leg over, so she now straddled him.
