Rin woke to sunlight streaming through the curtained windows. There were birds singing outside, and the fireplace had burnt down to embers overnight. She looked up at her Lord, still sleeping. She laughed in her head, he must've really burnt himself out last night. She gazed upon him for a minute or so, before suddenly being alarmed by movement in her stomach. She panicked, her eyes widening as they continued. Then they stopped.

Rin realized what she felt must've been the baby kicking. She hastily placed a peck on Sesshomaru's face to wake him, and he stirred. 

"M'lord!" she whispered. He opened his eyes.

"Mm?" He grumbled.

"He's kicking!" She said excitedly, focused on tuning into her body.

Laid on her side, her body against him, her stomach was pressed onto his ribcage. She could see he was feeling too, trying to focus on any sensation. Just as he was about to open his mouth and say he felt nothing, two little kicks could be felt in both their bodies.

Rin looked up at him with stars in her eyes. He felt strange excitement pulse through him.

"Do you feel it?!" She squealed.

"I do." He replied instantly.

Once the kicks had finished again, Rin grinned up at Sesshomaru. He gave a small smile, before reaching down with one hand to caress her stomach. He couldn't believe how she was already 5 months into her pregnancy. That left only four before the birth of their...

"Did you say he?" Sesshomaru asked.

Rin looked up at him again. "I guess I did."

He placed a firm kiss on her forehead. "Well then, one girl and one boy."

Rin giggled and sat up, stretching. He admired her body as she yawned in the sunlight. He realized he never wanted to know a world without this. And he knew he had to bring up something that had been on his mind.

"Rin?" 

"Hmm?"

"How do you feel...about becoming immortal?"

Rin opened her eyes wide. She didn't even know that was a possibility.

"Is that...could that happen?" 

He nodded. "Yes, but it would involve another ceremony."

"Like the tattoo?" She asked.

"Yes. It would be a potion. And it would not taste good." He answered.

Rin paused and thought about it. "Well, I'm already nauseous." She chuckled.

His face remained a tad serious. "It would make your life bound to mine. Meaning, you would live as long as I did. And you would die if I died in battle." He was nervous about her reaction.

"So?" Rin asked. This didn't seem like a bad deal to her.

Sesshomaru felt relieved. "But, there is something else. If you do this now, while still pregnant, the pup would be immortal too."

Rin felt stupid. "Isn't it already a half demon?" She asked.

"Yes, but not all half demons are born with immortality. The potion would guarantee it."
