Surprisingly I woke up with the bright sunlight shinning in through the curtains. Finally it felt like summer. I rubbed my tired eyes and then rolled over to the left to see my alarm clock. 7:46am. I didn't have to be at university until 9 so I had plenty of time to get ready.
I walked down the stairs in my pyjamas to find Mum, Dad and Ella already in the kitchen eating breakfast.
"Nice sleep?" Mum smiled at me as she bunked two extra pieces of toast in the toaster.
"I guess." I smiled back and sat down at the table.
"Your going to university today right Grace?" Dad spoke as he was reading the newspaper.
"Yep." I sighed.
"Great so you can take Ella to school today?" He asked.
"Okay" I replied. I only said yes because I was leaving soon and it's the on the way to university anyway.
After I ate my toast, I went back up stairs to get ready. I went and brushed my teeth and then looked inside my wardrobe deciding what to wear.
I walked back down stairs at 8:30 just in time to take Ella to school in a
blue pair of skinny jeans, a random t-shirt and a jumper. Even though it did look sunny out it also looked a bit chilly too.
"Comon Ella hurry up or you'll be late!" Said Mum rushing Ella to put her school shoes on.
"Ready?" I asked Ella as I was in the process of opening the door.
"Ready." She replied. And with that we walked out the door on the way to school.
"What are you doing at school today?" I asked just to make a little bit of conversation.
"Swimming!" Ella shouted excitedly as she was swinging her swimming kit round.
"Hey! You'll knock someone's eye out with that bag!" I heard a familiar voice chuckle.
"Sorry." Ella mumbled politely.
"Joe?" I said recognising the voice.
"Joel." Joel laughed.
"Oh, sorry! I'm rubbish with names." I said feeling my cheeks heat up.
"It's okay I'm rubbish with names too." He smiled, probably making me feel less like an idiot for just calling him Joe.
"Is this your sister?" Joel wondered, picking up the conversation.
"Yeah, this is Ella"
"You can tell, you two look a lot alike." He smiled looking at Ella.
"Is he your boyfriend?" Ella whispered but not quiet enough for Joel to not hear.
"No, Joel lives next door. The man who gave us that egg?" I said, thanks Ella for making things a lot more awkward.
"Ah the egg man." Ella replied.
"Not what most people call me but I guess its better than Joe." Joel winked at me.
I awkwardly chuckled and then looked back at Ella.
"I think we should be going now Ella's school starts in 10 minutes." I said taking a quick glance at my watch.
"Oh er yes I should be getting off now too." Joel stuttered slightly.
"Bye!" Ella shouted as we both took a couple steps forward.
"Bye." Joel starting in the opposite direction.
"The egg man seemed ni--" Ella was about to finish her sentence but a loud shout overheard her.
"WAIT GRACE, what are you doing for lunch?"
