Twenty-six

i've waited for a moment, with my heart beating so fast and felt like butterflies in my stomach. I sat there, plucked the virtual grass as it disappeared once i did it.

"CODE7"

I heard someone muttered under his breath, as his breath was heavy showing how exhausted he was.

I turned around slowly and saw him under the mask. My mouth wanted to open but it barely could and ended up without saying anything.

My eyes just stared to his.

"No i can't do this" I shook my head and tried to log out but CODE9 stepped forward and held my hand, stopping me from logging out.

"Let me go" my teeth gritted while my eyes looked down to my shoes. "No i dont want. You told me to meet you here and here i am! Why are you running away?!" CODE9 asked, almost shouts.

"So you don't feel any guilt at all? After what you said to your friend??" I tried to be brave to tell him and ask anything that i curious about.

"What? What do you mean??" Slowly he let go of my hand and i held mine with another hand. "That time, i saw you talking with a lady. And as i eavesdropped, you told her that im not close with you. Not.. even as a friend.." A drop if tear fell onto my cheek but it was hidden under the mask.

"About that.. no, im sorry. I don't have any excuses" He shook his head and can't look me in the eye.

My eyes widened, never thought that he would say that. I wanted an explanation, just one! Is it that hard?

"I need to hear an explanation from you! please tell me just one. Im not desperate, i want to positively thinks that i am wrong. I don't want to lose you, after i finally made a friend.." i cried even harder.

"Sorry, not this time" He shook his head again, still, lowering his head.

It was silent until my fingers move, searching for the log out button.

"I trusted you, CODE9"

That came out from my mouth before i logged out, leaving him behind in the game.

With tears, i came out from the capsule and straight went to sleep. It was hard to sleep, thanks to me crying all over, i was tired enough and fell asleep afterwards.

A week has passed, slowly im getting used to be alone without friend, just like before.

I needed a friend, but no one was there. My parents cared about me, asked if i was okay, and comforted me well.

While i was sitting in the garden to feel the calm wind hitting my skin, suddenly i dropped a tear.

"Miss? are you alright?" The new maid, asked. I wiped my tears right away, smiling at her. "Yes i am. Can you please make some tea?" I gave her a kind smile.

She replaced aunt aro for a while because Aunt Aro asked the permission to leave for few days to visit her sick daughter.

"I will prepare some tea for you"

"Please make it two cups and err.. Some cookies please" Another voice came up, it was familiar though.

"Jungkook?" i spoke up and heard him chuckling, "Yep"

"Why your face is red?" Jungkook asked the maid as she was stuttered "I'im sorry, i will be going now" She hurriedly went inside to the kitchen. "Im more curious now, are you 'that' good looking?"

"Nah.. please dont say that it makes me shy. You can say i'm amazing in every perspective"

I cleared my throat, "Okay.. 'Jungkook', where have you been?" I changed the topic, can't contain my laughter. "Sorry, it's just i had sonething to be done. Why? Are u starting to like me?"

He asked while be seated next to me "No.. I just need someone and you weren't there. But it's okay, i forgot that i used to that" I giggled

"I saw you were crying earlier. Are you okay?"

"Damn, don't you ever heard of do not ask anyone if the person is okay or not. They maybe will cry like a waterfall" Both of us laughed and the new maid came with a tray.

Jungkook took the try and placed it on the table in front of us. My hand moved forward to reach for the cup but i can't see it, "Let me help-" The maid wanted to help but Jungkook interrupted and said "I will help her. Thank you for this tea and cookies" Jungkook said kindly and the maid left right after she replied.

"Here, your tea" Jungkook took my hand and handed me the cup carefully.

"Lara, i need to tell you something" Jungkook said, his tone changed.

As i took a sip, he took the cup and helped me place it down. "What is it?" I asked

"Your parents discussed with my parents and they.. want both of us to be engaged"
