Pairing: Pietro x Wanda x Sibling!Reader

Imagine: Losing your brother and sister

Warnings: I cried writing this so

You laid in bed, tossing and turning. The clock on the wall read 2 a.m. You were plagued with dreams about that moment, that moment when your whole world fell apart. The moment Pietro died.

You were in Sokovia with your siblings and the Avengers, trying to stop Ultron. With powers similar to your sister, you were protecting the button that would take the entire floating city down.

You knew Pietro was running around, helping evacuate. The fight was an uphill battle, it was rough but you seemed to be winning. And then it happened. A searing pain ripped through your head, and you just knew.

The world got still as you could hear his body hit the ground. You and Wanda fell to your knees, screams combining and sending a shock throughout the city.

It was like a part of you was gone, as if you were a puzzle now missing a piece. It all became too much as you collapsed, the sobs of your sister the last sound you heard before everything went black.

You shot out of bed, gasping. You were drenched in sweat, breathing heavily. The nightmares never ended. They refused to give you a break, and for the past couple days you'd been running on mere hours of sleep.

As the nightmare played over and over in your head, you knew you wouldn't be sleeping again anytime soon. So you got to work.

Within your bedroom, you sat at your desk surrounded by items of varying sizes and shapes. You'd been practicing your time abilities for a week straight now, stretching and building up the mental muscle. You were close, so close.

You held up an old apple, rotten and beginning to disintegrate. Focusing all of your energy and strength on the fruit, it slowly started to become whole and healthy again. Within a few minutes the Apple was shining and perfect.

You bit into it, a smile forming on your face for the first time since Sokovia. You were ready.

The following day, you wrote 2 letters. One of them was going to Steve Rogers. You didn't know the Avengers very well, or really at all. But based on what you did know, you thought he could handle the secret the best. You needed someone to know. The other letter was for your siblings.

In your letter to Steve, you explained that in the original timeline Pietro had died saving the child and Clint. You went on to confess that his death drove you nearly to insanity, and that after spending days locked up in your room, you perfected your abilities. If he was reading, it probably meant you were dead, and hopefully your mission had been successful. If not, it was for the best.

In the letter to your siblings, you said nothing of the original timeline. You explained that if they were reading this you had passed away, and you wanted them to know it wasn't their fault. You said your final words to them, but did not reveal the event you were hoping to change.

You signed each letter with love and thanks, labeling one 'Mr. Rogers' and the other 'Pietro & Wanda.' You sealed them, dropping them into your coat pocket.

You stood in the middle of your bedroom, taking a last look around. It was time. You raised your hands, closed your eyes, and cleared your head.

And back you went.

You were running. Wanda could hold the robots off for now, she didn't need you. She desperately asked where you were going, but you didn't stick around to answer. You didn't think you could face her when you knew what was coming.

You were almost there, almost where Clint was going to save the child. You could feel time slipping away, hear the clock ticking towards the fatal moment. And like a harsh breeze you swept behind Pietro, pushing him out of the way.

He tumbled to the ground, shock and confusion on his face. He looked for his savior, to find you laying on the ground. Holes scattered throughout your body, where bullets met flesh.

You knew that going back in time to save Pietro would cost you. You couldn't completely change the course of events or it would risk the rest of the time line. So someone had to take Pietro's place, someone had to die.

You were prepared to take on his role.

Pietro fell to his knees, and in the distance you could hear Wanda screaming. Despite the situation, you smiled. The timeline was continuing, and your brother was alive.

"Why, why, why?" He cried, clutching your hands.

"Because you're my brother, and I love you more than life itself." You answered truthfully, blood bubbling from your lips.

"Please don't leave us, don't leave me and Wanda." He begged, tears streaming down his face.

"There are 2 letters in my coat. They are only to be read by the people I addressed them too. It's important."

He nodded desperately. He would do anything for you.

"Tell Wanda I love her. Please behave with the Avengers, they mean well. Forgive Tony Stark, his mistakes are in his past. Forgive and move on. I love you."

Pietro was sobbing now, clutching your hands in his. "I love you so so much."

You smiled sadly. "I'll see you again someday, but not before your time. I love you Pietro, don't every forget that. And don't let Wanda forget either. Until I see you again."

Pietro continued to cry as your eyes faded and your heart stopped beating. With shaky hands he closed your eyes, unable to look at them without your light of life.

He rocked back and forth, another round of tears falling. He felt a hand on his shoulder, and thinking it was someone on the team he shook it off. The feeling didn't leave so he whipped around, prepared to scream at whoever it was.

But there was no one there. The feeling stayed for another couple seconds before disappearing again.

He picked you up carefully, holding you bridal style. He slowly walked away from that cursed spot, towards the Avengers. They stood in a group, solemn looks on their faces.

Clint ran up to him, eyes wide.

"What-what? Wait, she–? What happened?" He stuttered, eyes darting up and down your still form.

"She's dead, because of me. She pushed me out of the way." Pietro spoke quietly, his voice cracking. He pushed past Clint to where Wanda sobbed. Seeing the two of you, Wanda ran forward.

Once her eyes fell on you, still and lifeless, she screamed again. She fell to her knees, shaking the ground.

The mission was successful, and you were dead.
