It's been 2 years since the battle at the airport, I was a junior in college and I finally had that normal life I wanted, but maybe once again that'll change.
I sat with my friends Jayden, Dlyan, Brett and Stacy in the library studying for a huge test in one of our classes
"So do you know the answer to this question Liam"
"I have an idea of what it is but I'm not sure"
"Come on Liam, you're the smartest one at this table so if you don't know the answer what hope do we have?" Brett said
I smiled "not much I guess" we all laughed
We all sat there with our noses in our books when Luke, another friend of mine, came in
"Did you guys see the news?"
"No what happened?" I said
"Just look"
Dylan got up and turned the TV onto the news channel
"Holy shit" Jayden said
It showed that New York was just attacked by a flying space ship looking thing and it also said that Tony Stark has gone missing
"Is that a flying donut?" Stacy said, they laughed but I didn't because I knew stark and my friends didn't know that I had powers and may have to fight
"Maybe we should turn that off and continue studying" I said
"What if they try to take over the world?" Dylan said
"Well then the Avengers will take care of it like they always do" I looked back down at the book
"Fine Liam"
We studied until dark, when we got finished we all said our goodbyes and left the library. I headed back to the apartment I rented. When I got inside I knew something was wrong, I always leave one light on just incase.
"Maybe it just cut off" I said to myself. I put my book bag on the floor and went to find the closest light switch. Once I found it I cut it on and Steve, Natasha, Sam, Wanda, and an injured Vision all standing in my apartment
"What the hell are you guys doing in my apartment and what the hell happened to him" I pointed my hand at Vision
"Liam we'll explain but right now you need to come with us" Steve said
"Come with you? I don't do that superhero stuff anymore. I gave that up 2 years ago"
"I'm sure you saw what happened in New York"
"Yeah I saw it, but you're the Avengers. You take care of things like this"
"You're an Avenger too Liam"
"No I'm a guy with powers who wants a normal life"
"When you fought with me 2 years ago that technically means you are one" Steve said
"Look Steve, I've never fought a real enemy before. I have no experience in a real fight"
"I know that Liam, but I need you. I can't do this without you, if I didn't need you I wouldn't have come. Please just come with us"
I looked at him, then at Natasha, then at Wanda, then back at Steve "will I need to suit up?"
"Of course" Steve said
"Okay, I'll be back. You've already made yourself at home so make yourself even more at home"
I walked into my bedroom to get changed, I pulled out a suitcase out from under the bed and sat it on the bed. I opened it and pulled out my battle suit. I haven't worn this in 2 years. I took off what I had on and put the suit on. When I got done I went back where they were
