Unfortunately for me, I couldn't stay in my room forever. So I did the next best thing and ignored my mother.

Thankfully, she was in work most of the time so it wasn't very difficult to do. I was just glad that nobody else had heard that conversation. I have to say, it was probably the most embarrassing situation of my life.

"Have you spoken to him since," Evie whispered to me in science the next day, after I had told her everything that had happened.

"Not yet," I admitted. "He's tried to talk to me but I've been ignoring him. I don't know what to say to him! He obviously has an idea now. It's just so humiliating."

"Just carry on as if it never happened," she said as she put her things away. "I've got to go, I will talk to you later."

"I'll phone you," I shouted after her before I walked away to meet Tyler.

Before I could get there though, I felt someone grab my hand and pull me into their chest. "What the hell do you think you're playing at?" I said as I looked up. When I saw the grin on his face I felt myself get angry. "What are you doing Brooklyn?"

"Well," he began with a mischevious look on his face. "Everyone seems to think that we are dating so I thought we may as well play along.

"You might have to rethink that idea," I said as I walked away after freeing myself. "Because I'm not playing along." I walked a bit further until he caught me up and stopped me. "You're in my way and I have to go." I said dryly before I pushed him out of my way.

"I was just trying to cheer you up," he said after a minute or so. "I'm sorry." He paused as if he was waiting for me to say something but carried on when I didn't. "You're not actually mad are you? I am really sorry, I didn't mean to make you angry."

"It's going to take more than that," I said jokingly. I wasn't angry at him at all, I was still embarrassed about yesterday and I didn't know what to do.

--

"You do know I was joking earlier right?" I asked Brooklyn as we made our way to the seats in the cinema. "You didn't have to do this."

"I know," he whispered in my ear. "I wanted to."

At that moment in time I felt grateful for the darkness of the room; it meant he couldn't see me blushing like a fool.

"Well then, thank you," I whispered back to him. "I am having a really good time."

We didn't talk again until after the movie was over although I could feel him watching me in parts of it. I didn't mention it to him though, I liked it. I liked him. I didn't know what to do.

We walked to the tube station together, hand in hand, just talking about nothing. It wasn't anything too special but it still made me feel really happy. I was glad I agreed to go with him.

"You know," he began as we stopped outside my front door. "You squish your nose up when you laugh."

"I knew you were watching me," I said quickly.

"I think it's cute," he said before I could say anything else. "I really enjoyed tonight."

"Me too," I said as I looked at the ground. "Thank you and I'm sorry for earlier. I overreacted and I shouldn't have."

Instead of answering me, he pulled me in and hugged me close. There were so many butterflies in my stomach I thought I was going to be sick. I had never felt like this before; I didn't know what it was.

"I will see you in the morning," he whispered in my ear as he pulled back. When I was least expecting it, he quickly kissed my lips before pulling away again. "Goodnight beautiful."

"Goodnight," I said as I smiled at him. He quickly got his phone out and took a picture but I was too happy to object.

After he had gone, I ran to the kitchen straight away. I mean, I had to tell someone what had happened even if it was my older brother, right?
