"Is it alright if my boyfriend comes over for a while tonight?" I said. It had taken me twenty minutes to pluck up the courage to do it but it was done.
"You have a boyfriend?" Mum questioned as she poured herself a cup of coffee. "Who is it?"
"Brooklyn," I said with a shrug. I watched her nod before I walked out of the door with Tyler. "Hurry up." I jogged slightly so we wouldn't be too late but Tyler didn't seem bothered. "Hurry up Tyler. We're going to be late."
I met up with Evie who was waiting for me at the tube station. "Sorry we're late, Tyler didn't get up on time."
"It's fine." We made our way onto the crowded tube. After making sure Tyler was a good distance away from us but still in my view I turned to Evie.
"I need to tell you something about New York." She gestured for me to go on so I did. "Just before Brooklyn went home he asked me out." I watched as her expression went from curiousity to something happy.
"Why didn't you tell me?" she said. "I'm so happy for you."
I laughed as she hugged me. "I only said yes on the night I came back. I wasn't sure what to say but I told him I would tell him then." I grabbed my phone as it beeped. "I didn't know when to tell you, I tried to yesterday but you had gone before I had the chance."
"It's fantastic," she said. We stood up as the tube pulled to a stop and jumped off. Tyler came over to us and we made our way onto the street and to school.
"Morning," Brooklyn said as I met up with him outside of the main office. "Have you told them yet?"
"Everyone apart from my Dad," I said with a smug smile. "It's the middle of the night over there so I can't get in touch at the moment. He said he would phone tonight anyway. How about you?"
"Haven't spoken to her yet," he said. "But she is home tomorrow so I will tell her then, unless Dad already has."
We walked towards our form class before getting stopped by the year 10 girl I was talking to yesterday. "Have you got permission yet?"
"It's all sorted," I said with a smile. "I'm going to get people to go around forms this afternoon and see how many people are interested. I will meet with you at half two in Miss Jones' office to discuss it. If we get enough people we can make leaflets and be handing them out by tomorrow morning."
"Thank you so much," she said to me. "I really appreciate it. By the way, I'm Peyton."
"I'm Ella," I said with a smile. "I've got to get to form but I will see you this afternoon, yeah?"
She went off towards her form and I walked into mine as Brooklyn followed. "Is there anything you don't do? You help with maths nearly every day, you arrange clubs, you sit in detention. Seriously, you do everything."
"Quoting Tyler 'just call me Jesus'," I replied as I slid into my seat. He slid into the seat beside me as he laughed. Just as the teacher started calling the roll one of the boys came over to me.
"Are you any good at chemistry?" he asked me. "I really don't understand this piece of homework."
I took it off him and read it through. "You take the words from the diagram and put them into the equations. So, you would write Calcium Carbonate in the first box and so on. You just have to follow the order of the diagram."
"Thanks," he said as he took the book back and sat back down in his seat.
"Now you're even helping with chemistry," Brooklyn joked. "So, what is that girl setting up?"
"A debate team," I said. "It's a really good idea. It is a brilliant way for all pupils to interact with eachother." I checked my watch and quickly stood up. "I've got double maths so I will meet you in the canteen."
