(Continuing from Chapter 1)

"Alright well here is the key to your classroom Mr. Fallon, and welcome to MAC!" said Molly.

. . . .

As we left the front office and into the hallway, James tried to make conversation to get rid of the awkward silence.

"So, how bad is it?"

"How bad is what?" I answered back quickly.

"The kids. Are they pretty bad? Or are they at least decent?"

"Mr. Fallon, they're middle schoolers." I said sarcastically while looking at him with a grin.

He giggled.

I thought to myself, "Aghhhh that giggle was the cutest thing EVER! The way he put his hands over his face to hide his laugh was probably the best thing ever."

Then I reminded myself, "HE IS YOUR CO-WORKER! Nothing will ever happen. I mean come on, he's got to be married. Please."

My mind focused once again.

"Yeah I know, but still. Middle school wasn't the best years of my life, I was hoping it changed over the years," he said so innocently.

"I'm sorry," I said with sincere look on my face.

"It's okay! Don't worry about it. It was years ago, and we can have that conversation some other time. Don't want to walk into my first class here all emotional," he looked at me with that sweet grin and gave me a little wink.

This guy was trying to kill me.

We finally got up to where our classrooms were.

"Alright, well. This is my classroom on the left, room 10. If you need anything or if the kids get out of hand, just come get me. I'll set em' straight."

I gave him a little wink.

He looked down at the floor and I saw his face turn a little red.

"... Or I could just make up some other excuse for you to come over."

He glanced at me while his head was still facing the floor.

"Not like you'll need one."

I will never forget the look on his face.

"Well, anyway. That's your class right there. I have to go get my classroom ready for my students. Do you know what lunch you have?" I said.

"Uhhh- I believe I have prep period 3rd and 2nd lunch."

"Me too! Let's have lunch together!"

He blushed.

"Alright! I could use a tour during lunch also, if you're up to it."

"Sure no problem."

The bell rang.

I made eye contact with him and whispered, "Good luck!"

"Thanks, I'm going to need it."
