Today, it's time to tell Haley. It's been a few days since I found out I had to go back to California. I honestly still don't know how I'm going to do this, but it needs to be said. I pick up my phone and text Haley that we have to meet at the ice cream bar again, she agreed to meet.
As I walk and see Haley sitting there, I take a deep breath then slowly approach her. "Haley!" I said hugging her than sat down. "Mike!" she said smiling and hugging back. "So, is everything okay?" she added. I looked at her then quickly looked down in silence for a few. "No. Actually everything isn't okay." She then looked at me sadly but concerned. "What...What's wrong?" she asked resting a hand on my shoulder. I looked up and then in her eyes. "I don't know how to say this, but..." I sat there in silence. "But...?" she asked quietly. "But..." I started speaking. "My manager wants us back home. He wants me to start working on music again. So, we're leaving in a few weeks. I don't want to, I tried talking to my manager and family but couldn't get anything worked out. I...I'm sorry..." I could see her trying hard to hold back tears. "Oh..." she softly spoke. "No...no. Please don't cry." I said hugging her tight. "I'm not...my eyes are just sweating..." she said in a joking voice hugging me back.
We soon pulled away from the hug. I wiped her tears away gently. "I think I know of a way to make things a bit better." I said flashing a small smile. "Cookies and Cream?" I asked and smiled a bit bigger watching her crack a smile. "Cookies and Cream." she said smiling. I smiled and ordered the same flavors we did last time. "I'm paying." she said quickly. "Nope." I said back quickly and handed the guy the money. She hit me playfully and giggled. "Butt." she said. "Whatevs." I said and giggled.
