First Boss

After another 2 hours of training, we set out to complete some quests so that I can get Hayate today.

"Well, the good news is that after you went home I told them what happened and the guild bumped you up to E and now we can pretty much earn the money needed in one go!"

"Great, Hayate waits for me to..." I looked at the mission" Subjugate the Sapphire Hawk! Hold up! Please don't tell me it's stronger than the Scar Wolf."

"Okay..." She brushed off my worried look as we went into the forest. That didn't really increase my confidence.

"So do you have anything you can tell me about it first."

"The Sapphire Hawk is a bird large enough to take a full grown man, clad in armor, into the sky. It can chew a steel helmet and has two special abilities: flame body and fire breath.

"So basically a weaker Phoenix."

"Pretty much a weaker Phoenix."

"Has any weaknesses?"

"Not reported, all we have is most people come back with 3rd-degree burns and none of them know anything more than you."

"WHY IS EVERYONE TRYING TO KILL ME!!!" I scream as the birds exit the forest squawking.

"Calm down." She messes with my hair in an attempt to calm me" To be fair they were all very weak compared to you. They were made up of F classes who stumbled on it during the collection mission. You're practically a D class at this point it should be fine." Though I felt better I moved her hand off my head as it's annoying.

"Okay, as long as we stand a chance I will take it. We did put in all that work this morning to level me up some. A bit of a challenge shouldn't be a problem."

"Yeah that's the spirit, we can do it! But if not this time we have a backup plan." She showed me a scroll." With this, we can return to the guild and can just come back later! You can praise me, Rea your darling and genius idol and guide, now!" I ignore her last comment.

"Time to see if I can turn a flaming hawk into a fried chicken." I started my way to the location on the map. After about 20 minutes we made it and I looked at its huge nest. You could see the bones of adventurers who stumbled upon it and died. Though it was a horrid sight of charred bodies and bones with no method to identify them with. Passing I saw a katana that caught my attention. The sword was made much better than my own and since a dead man can't use a sword, unless they're an undead, I took it with me.

"Alright, Rei it's show time! The nest should be just up ahead."

Just then a loud sound crashed on the nest in front of us. I rush over to find the bird fighting someone in the nest. I quickly scale it in a few leaps and reach the top to see the Sapphire Hawk fighting...Nagisa!

As I looked on, I heard someone yell" Get down!!!" as I was pushed to the ground. Rea saved me from getting turned into charcoal.

"Pay Attention!! What happened to make you lose focus!"

"It's Nagisa, it's actually him! He's right there! He's okay! I have to go help him!" I rushed to close the distance then jumped and used [Air Slash] knocking the bird out of the sky onto the ground. I practiced it so much it could reach twenty-feet with the force of a car moving at fifty miles an hour. It would not be getting up for a while from a hit like that.

"Rei is that you! I can't believe it!" He gave me a hug and it felt ridiculously strong even though I leveled up quite a few times.

"What are you doing here Nagisa?!"
