Behind the truth

Chapter 1

6|18|18 the day Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy was murder. Everyone was devastated of what happened to him including me. It all started with one lie  the lie that I shouldn't have made. And I'll tell you all about it.

It was in late October of 2017 , While packing into my new apartment. I was new to the whole area from moving to Florida all the way from Los Angeles.

Don't get me wrong but I was quite nervous moving away from my home city and my own state to start a fresh new journey in life.

My parents always told me to stay focus on graduating college and by getting a bachelors degree so I can follow in their  footsteps .

But I'm really not that interested in attending college but if I don't attend college I'm letting my parents and family down. So I just do what's right in my heart.

As I was finished unpacking I sat on the cold bare floor while I pull out my phone, I know the movers don't showed up till 5pm tomorrow.

I scroll through my instagram and then took a quick selfie:

I then walked in my kitchen and took a look around. It been a few minutes of boredom when all of a sudden I get a phone call, I checked the caller id and it was Jacklyn the girl I met online before I moved to Florida she told me she will show me around since I'm new to everything.

"Hey Jacklyn." I said as I wipe down the counters. "Hey Amirah, Did you made it to your apartment safely."  She asked.

"Yeah, So when are gonna show me around?" I asked her.

"Well tomorrow I'm off and I was wondering if I can take you to the mall" she said.

"Girl, I have enough clothes why do we need to go to the mall for." I Said.

"Well what if you need something that is a little more stylish to wear instead of  what you got in your wardrobe and you don't even know where's it at." She said.

I rolled my eyes at that statement and said " I can just asked Siri where's it at."

"Oh yeah what if you don't know the name of the mall."

"Isn't there multiple malls." I asked her.

"Well yes there is, but there one only special mall though and it's really rare."

I took a bag of hot cheetos and muffled "wh-So spe-cial?" I tried to speak while crunching.

"What?"

I gulp my Cheetos and said "Why is it so special."

"Because the coolest rapper goes there duh."

I wanted to asked more questions but then my phone died and I never get to asked who was the rapper called, or I didn't know if Jacklyn was gonna picked me up or not.

*Next morning*

I woke up the next day to the sound of a horn honking outside I checked to see  who it was and I saw Jacklyn outside of my apartment.

I checked my phone to see if I have any messages and Damn she was blowing up my phone last night I had over 50 messages and 40 voicemails all from her.

I quickly got up from my pallet and quickly walked to the bathroom to freshen up.

Today I'm wearing:

I then hurry out the door to see Jacklyn waiting in the parking lot. As soon as I got inside of the car Jacklyn asked "What took you so long, and why you hang up last night."

"I didn't knew you were coming so I overslept and my phone died last night." I said

"Oh" was her last word. We drove the rest of the ride in silence while listening to the radio play all through the drive.

As soon as me and Jacklyn got to the mall Jacklyn said "Hey my boyfriend works here and he gets off in 1 more minute do you mind hanging with us while we shop."

"Oh um sure." I Said with a smile. I don't know why she invited me to the mall if she knew her boyfriend works there but I guess I can hang for a little while.

"Cool." She said.

A few hours with by and I was getting bored walking behind Jacklyn and her boyfriend while they comfort each other. I was so jealous sometimes I wished I had a boyfriend who could comfort me just like Jacklyn's boyfriend does to her.

As  we were passing one of the shops I saw a bridal dress in the shop window, I was imagining what will happen if I got married, me walking down the aisle, and meeting my future husband.

I then snapped out my daydream and saw that Jacklyn was nowhere to be found.

A few minutes went by but still no sign of Jacklyn and I was in a mall by myself. I tried to  call her but I realized I was in such a hurry earlier that I forgot all about my phone.

I quickly rushed to the exit then stopped in my tracks. My heart stop for second then realized, My favorite rapper was in same mall as I was, XxxTentacion.

I quickly snapped out of my mind and hurry towards the door and out of nowhere I heard a voice behind me said "Geneva is that you?"

I then felt hands around my waist I was so nervous I didn't know what to do all I just did was stand there.

Then I felt a whisper through my ear "there you are Geneva I missed you all day." Then he planted a kiss on my cheek.

"Let's get out of here." He said. And he put his arm around my shoulder and we exit the mall.

What have I gotten myself into now?
