Golf

Starting off my book with a weird idea I came up with today while learning some golf!

Warnings:

Sad ignored Lance

Nothing very triggering

"Okay paladins, today we will bond as a team by playing a sport that I heard you earthlings used to play back on earth, golf!" Allura announced during breakfast.

Everyone looked kind of nervous, but I was not. I used to teach golfing lessons to kids back on earth. I was pretty good at golf, and I probably still am. Finally! Something I'm actually good at!

"When you're finished up eating, we'll all meet up in the training room!"

*Time skip because I don't want to show lance eating in silence, putting away his plate, and going to the training room in detail*

I stepped into the training room, taken aback by how it was already set up.  The hole was very far away from the starting point, considering that everyone else were probably beginners.

"Okay Paladins, I have managed to find a video of this golf you speak of." Coran told us.

Coran continued to press some buttons and suddenly there was a very low quality, glitchy video on the screen of a man playing golf.

"In this video I will teach you the basics of golf, including your stance, your grip, and how to swing your club." ()These random bolded notes in between parentheses are author's notes) I know like, nothing about golf)

I already know all this stuff, I thought.

"So your stance will be very uncomfortable at first, but as you practice more and more you'll probably ease into it. So I am going to show you the correct stance you need to have when playing golf. You see how my back isn't bent forward too much? I am just  slightly leaning forward. I am also bending my knees slightly, but just enough that I am not putting all my weight into my knees. I am also going to show you the wrong way to stand."

He continued to show us the wrong way to stand, over exaggerating a "little". Some of the paladins laughed, including Pidge.

"Ha ha ha, that looks like Lance!" Pidge said, earning a couple of laughs from the rest of the paladins, and a dirty look from me.

"I'll have you know that I am excellent at golf!" I said a little too confidently.

"Oh yeah? Prove it!" Keith said.

"I will!"

I walked over to the golf clubs and golf balls, and got into my stance.

"Watch this!" I smirked.

I continued to swing and crossed my fingers as the golf ball flew in the air, letting a gasp that I didn't know I was holding in when it made it in.

"See!" I smiled, laughing at my achievement.

The rest of the team didn't seem very impressed.

"Showoff..." I heard someone mutter.

My face immediately dropped. 

"Fine, be like that..." I said thinking that I was the only one that heard myself say that, when in fact everyone else heard.

"Look, Lance, we're sorry." Hunk sighed.

Sure they are.

"Oh, okay. Thanks..."

I smiled and walked back to my seat to watch the rest of the video, not really paying attention.

Smiling as everyone else tried and failed.

Clapping along with everyone else.

I don't want to be selfish but, what about me?
