(Daniel's POV)

Never have I ever been so scared before as of right now, locked in the dark. In a room I barely know.

My heart is racing so fast I'm afraid it'll break out of my chest. My eyes are open wide, desperately to find some light in here but not finding anything. My ears are focused on any unusual sounds since what I saw the Cat do, but all I hear is my own raging breath. Chills are running down my back, creating goosebumps all over my skin.

Gos please help me.

I know the door and stairs are behind me somewhere. They have to be since I didn't move yet. Now all I have to do is stay calm and find my way through the dark.

I gulp and calm myself. There is no one here, except for Max's ghost and I know the cat likes me.

A bit less scared I turn around slowly. My arms are in front of me so I can feel it when I reach the stair. I dropped the flashlight and I'm not planning on finding it.

Slowly I start walking, putting one foot in front of the other. The creaking of the wooden planks beneath my feet sound through the room, mixing with the sound of my breath.

'Almost there' I encourage myself mentally. I have to be. I walked against some boxes, but stepped out of the way, then stepping back to the same line I was walking on.

And then finally my hands touch something. I almost breath out in relief. I finally found the wall, but then I realize it isn't the wall. Walls aren't soft and warm?

My hand slides over the object in front of me. It feels like skin and then I feel someone's hair.

I suck in my breath scared out of my mind.

I'm touching someone!

"Boo." A voice sounds through the room. It wasn't louder than a whisper, but still enough for me to hear.

I'm totally frozen. What can I do? I'm standing in an unfamiliar room in the dark with a person here.

My heart only stops completely when I see two lights starting to form in front of me. They are about my height maybe a bit taller.

I can't turn my head away from the two flames, it's like they have me under their spell.

Second by secound they become larger, enlightening what is in front if me.

In the flickering light I see the same boy that was on the T.V. earlier. The one the one with blond hair.

His mouth is cut open and dried blood hangs around the wounds. Several cuts are on the rest of his body and the flames they shine from his empty, burned eye sockets.

Even though he doesn't have eyes, I know he is looking straight at me. The smile cut on his face makes it look like he's smirking at me, and maybe he actually is.

Slowly he starts to raise his bloody hand and brings it closer to my face. I can't move away. I can't even look away from his face. I can't do anything but wait for him to touch me and probably kill me.

My heart is hammering against my chest again. I can hear the blood rushing through my ears, that being the only sound I can hear.

His finger is almost touching my cheek. Bringing it closer and closer....

And then every thing goes dark again.

I unfreeze out of my shock and take a few steps aside quickly. Then I almost run forward, wanting nothing more than getting out of here.

Luckily for me I find the stairs almost immediately. I scramble upstairs and swing open the door, running back into to light.

Quickly I slam the door behind me and lock it, so the boy cantcome out. I slide down the wall opposite of the basement door and try to calm down.

What happened down there?

Slowly my thoughts starts to drift back to the earlier events.

First I find out my cat is actually dead. I get scared and then everthing becomes dark. My flashlight dies, even though the batteries were new. Then there's actually a maimed boy in front of me. How did he get in there anyways? How can he be alive with all those wounds.

But then again. Max isn't alive either.

Maybe the boy is like my cat, maybe he just doesn't like me as much as Max does.

I gasp again when I realize that I saw him in my house before. When I drawibgin the fields it hadn't been an illusion at all.

And then on the T.V., when the lights had been acting weird, had it been him too.

Probably.

My head turns automatically to its right when I see a movement. Max sits there, head tilt to the side and just staring at me as he always does.

"You like me, don't you? You won't hurt me, right?" I asked the cat and as it actually understood me, he lifts his lazy ass off the floor and toddles over to me. He starts spinning when he rubs his head against my leg.

I smile at him and scratch him behind his ear. "I like you too, Max." I say.

Then I stand up. I need some answers.

I walk into the living room and lock eyes with some angry blue ones.

I freeze once again.

The same boy as in the basement is standing there looking at me with anger in his eyes.

He doesn't have any wounds anymore.

Suddenly he launches himself at me. In a matter of seconds he crossed the room and reached me.

I close my eyes and scream in horror. He's going to kill me.

I wait for the pain to sprout, but all I feel is a cold blow of air in my face.

Carefully I open my eyes.

The room is empty.

Im alone

I see my phone laying on the table and quickly I run to it grabbing it and hurrying out of the house. I hope the boy won't follow me.

I stand on the road and unlock the phone, quickly tapping some buttons before putting it against my ear.

"Hello?" A voice answers after a few rings.

"Jack? You need to come over. Now."
