I sat at the bus stop, waiting for the public bus and feeling the cold wind and light droplets of water on my face. I quickly checked the time on my phone; 11:21 pm. The BTS boys had been home for about a week and I'd just had my first class with them since their return, after which Tae and Jungkook had requested for me to stay a little longer to help them with certain things they didn't quite understand.
Unknowingly, what was supposed to be an extra thirty minutes turned into an extra three hours as the two boys excitedly told me of their tales from tour. The rest of the guys had stayed for a little while before they slowly left, Jimin and Hoseok leaving to dance, Jin wanting to head back to the dorm to catch some sleep, and Namjoon and Yoongi having to produce some music.
Namjoon and Yoongi had stayed the longest, staying for about an hour after class ended before Namjoon got up. "Aish, sorry Addi-ah, we've gotta go to work now," he said to me, flashing me a smile as he began to walk to the door. However, Yoongi remained in his seat, not making any moves to get up. "Hyung?" Namjoon called out to Yoongi, who simply turned his head to look at him, "you coming?". Yoongi lingered in his spot a little longer before sighing quietly and getting up, saying a soft 'goodbye' and 'see you' and following after Namjoon who waved goodbye. Afterwards, Jungkook and Tae carried on telling their stories from their tour, from skiing in Japan to eating fried crickets in Thailand – "It was actually pretty good," Jungkook commented, to which Taehyung cringed at.
When it neared half past 10, Mr. Song, the boys' manager, came into the room, hurrying them home. He'd offered me to drive me home as well but I'd politely declined, not wanting to be a bother to them and that brought me to where I was now, waiting for the bus that seemed as though it was never going to arrive.
I'd been waiting for over 40 minutes and was just about to flag a taxi instead when a black car pulled up in front of me. I paid no mind to it, trying to see if there were any taxis coming instead, when I heard a familiar voice calling, "Yah! Addison," I turned to look at the car, being met with the sight of Yoongi in the driver's seat, one hand on the wheel and the other on the back of passenger's seat as he leaned across it to call out to me.
"Get in the car, I'll drive u home," he said.
"It's fine thanks, I can take the bus," I smiled at him.
"Don't be ridiculous, it's late and it's raining so heavily,"
"It's fine really! I don't want to inconvenience you,"
Yoongi sighed, and I watched, eyes widening, as he unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car, walking around it in the pouring rain quickly to stand in front of me.
"Hey, you could never be an inconvenience, so just come with me?" he told me gently, strands of hair already dripping wet and falling over his eyes.
Upon hearing his words, I felt a blush creeping up my neck and I nodded quietly, looking away, unable to meet his eyes. From the corner of my eye, I saw him smile before he stepped away and opened the door to the passenger seat of his car, gesturing for me to get in. Shyly, I muttered a 'thank you', reaching to close the door after I was seated. But alas, the dark-haired boy beat me to it and quickly shut the door, returning to his seat. He smiled at me once more, buckling his seatbelt.
"Alright so, where do you live?"

The drive home was quiet, with him humming at moments and us sitting in silence at others. I couldn't help but think about what happened earlier that day.
I asked the boys if they'd completed the assignment I gave them three weeks back, and to my happiness, none of them said no, so I asked "Okay, would anyone like to share their work?"
"I think Yoongi hyung should go first," Hoseok said.
At this, Yoongi looked up, "No, I actually didn't do it, sorry," he said.
"What do u mean you didn't do it hyung? You spent the whole tour working on it," Taehyung asked, confused.
"Well, I lost it," Yoongi said curtly, shooting the younger boy a sharp look.
The rest of the boys exchanged looks with one another before Taehyung shrugged and Namjoon volunteered to start instead.
Figuring that Yoongi must have had a reason for not wanting to share, I agreed to let Namjoon begin, glancing at Yoongi to see if he was alright, but the boy stared straight ahead, a completely blank expression on his face.
"So, what made you decide to work here in Korea?" Yoongi suddenly inquired, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Ah, well I've always wanted to try something out of my comfort zone, explore new things, and working overseas seemed like a good choice. I mean I get paid, so I don't have to rely on my parents for money anymore, and I get to experience what it's like to live in another country at the same time," I explained, "What made you decide to be a rapper?"
Yoongi laughed then said, "I'm not sure, I've always loved music and rapping and there wasn't anything else I was really interested in, so I figured becoming a rapper made the most sense," he shrugged,"oh and of course, the prospect of getting to meet pretty girls," he smiled at me and, unexpectedly, winked cheekily.
I laughed, "Ah yes, all those beautiful girl group members."
"Ani, I don't mean them," he replied.
