"Have any of you heard whether he has a part-time job or not?"
They give me a look of surprise, delight, and curiosity.
"Have you started to take an interest in him?"
I am on serious business here. The gift he gave me looks expensive. How did he afford it? Tell me if any of you know.
"By working, I guess?"
"If not, maybe he used his saving?"
"Why don't you let us see how expensive it is?"
A good point.
"Oh my gosh!"
"How wonderful!"
"I see your point. It does look like he splurged on you, doesn't it?"
I will feel bad if this gift turns out to be as expensive as I guessed. His birthday cake was made with leftover ingredients. It was small in size either.
"No need to think too hard about it,"
I snap my head up at his voice, seeing nobody but him.
My friends have scattered. Again.
"This gift is also included as your birthday present,"
Oh. Okay then. Thanks!
