It's been 6 years. His contract as a miner, which allows him to avoid the sun, has ended. To avoid suspicion, he has to leave.
From here on, he has to find another way to sustain himself. No more absorbing the minerals' aura...
Disregarding that one Priest's advice, this Vampire journeys to another part of the world that can accept his unchanging self.
With money earned through hard labour, Vampire decides to just give up on life.
Buy a house, buy a coffin, sleep. Or. Dig a hole, place the coffin, sleep.
Either choice is attractive.
Why did he waste 6 years living anyway?
On his way to find a land to bury his coffin, Vampire meets a person in need of money. Since he has plenty of money he doesn't plan to use, Vampire magnificently gives it away, keeping only what he needs to arrange a burial.
"I won't just take the money. What do you want in exchange?"
"Blood,"
"OK. How do you want it?"
"...OK?"
"It's just blood. Money is more important. How do you want it?"
"Are you sure it's OK for me to take your blood?"
"Blood for money. Definitely OK,"
