Finn POV

Rey is with Kylo Ren, and our fleet is destroyed. Whatever is remaining of the Resistance is now making its way towards a cave on the far end of the island, led by Poe. He's a beautiful person, so determined and so strong, but he's distracted. He's been distracted ever since Rey took us aboard the Falcon to get us to Ahch-To.

I run ahead to catch up to Poe, and I can't help but notice how stressed up and distant he looks. He's worried about Rey, I know. That girl really is something but the fact that he pays so much attention to her, wants to save her more than anyone here, that fact hurts. It stings. But how could I have been so foolish? He loves her, he has since he heard of her. I have  no chance.

"How far are we from the cave?" a voice asks from the back.

"I'm not too sure, but I'd assume maybe about an hour or 2 more?" Poe replies, suddenly attentive as ever. BB8 struggles to keep up with Poe's fast pace, the sand is too soft for him to roll on.

I then realise we don't really have a plan to get Rey back. "Poe, how are we going to get Rey back? We have no ships, and we have no idea where the First Order is."

"The First Order are bound to send in another attack soon, if we manage to get one of their ships we'll be able to find Rey and we'll have a ship," Poe explains.

"How are we supposed to get one of their ships?," I ask, slightly sceptical.

"We'll figure that out when the time comes," is the reply I receive. Then I hear a thud from the back of the group, then a scream, then a sob. I turn and run to the back and see Leia on the ground.

Poe runs towards us and mumbles something, then tells us to step back. He checks her pulse then looks around at everyone. "She's still alive but her pulse is weak. We need to get somewhere quick so we ca-" Before he finishes his statement, two people have already picked Leia up and a few others are now running towards a nearby cave. We could just use this as a base but it's too close to our last one, hence the need to walk across the whole island.

The two people carrying Leia walk quickly into the cave and put her down on a mat of leaves that has been set out. Rose has water with her and helps Leia drink some of it. Our state is vulnerable. An attack now would only kill her which would kill us all.

Rose stands and seems to be crying. She comes towards me and envelops me in a hug. I return it, feeling her need for comfort. "What if she doesn't wake up?" Rose asks between sniffles.

"She's a strong woman and she's fought for so long. She will wake up, unless she thinks it's time to accept defeat," I say, hearing my voice crack at the last few words. She will wake up.
