Ch.10

Janaya's POV

"I thought they rescheduled ?" I asked

"I thought so to" he said getting out the car and I followed

We walked in to see his parents sitting in the living room talking.

"What are you guys doing here?" Messiah asked.

"I can't come visit my son?" His mother asked.

"Yes, it's just I thought you guys had a meeting "Messiah said.

"We did but we decided to reschedule it" his mom said.

"Why?" Messiah asked.

"Because there has been complaints from the neighbors about gun shots " his dad said.

"What does that have to do with me?" Messiah asked.

"They said the sound was coming from this house" his dad said.

"You could have told me over the phone" Messiah said.

"Watch it boy" his dad said.

I've been standing here for 5 minutes and no one has acknowledged the fact that I'm alive but I can tell Messiah and his dad don't have the best relationship.

"Who is that behind you?" His dad asked.

"Oh yeah this is Janaya" Messiah said.

"And who is Janaya?" His mother asked looking at me.

"She's my friend " Messiah said.

"Can she talk?" His mother asked.

"Yeah. Why?" Messiah asked going to sit on the couch.

"Because the question was for her" his mother said.

"Oh...um hi " I said shyly still standing scared as fuck.

"Come sit down dear" his dad said waving me over.

"How long have you known Messiah? His mother asked.

Before I could answer Messiah interrupted.

"Don't start interrogating her mom" Messiah said.

His mom gave him a side eye and he gave his attention back to his phone. His mom looked back at me waiting on me to answer her question.

"About 2 months" I said.

"Are you guys dating?" She asked.

"I think you should ask Messiah that question" I said pushing Messiah's leg to get his attention.

"What?" He asked not listening to anything.

"Oh no dear that question was for you" she said looking at me.

"Um I don't know" I said.

"It's a yes or no question sweet heart" his dad said before getting up and going in the kitchen.

"Um-

"Yes damn now get off her back " Messiah said cutting me off before following his dad in the kitchen.

I started smiling extra hard from what Messiah said and his mother gave me a glare.
