Taehyung stays with Jungkook until he gets out of hospital. It's very awkward, because of what Jungkook had said about Chaeyoung.
It is the evening when the pair arrive back at the camp, and people have already slept in their tents. There is no-one on the field except the boys. It is silent.
From behind them, they hear some footsteps and turn around to see Chaeyoung looking at them, a big cheesy grin on her face.
"Jungkook, how is your arm," she says, rushing up to him and stroking his arm, "You're so brave! You look so hot with that cast."
Jungkook is getting uncomfortable, and so is Taehyung who is looking at them knowingly, but sadly.
"Um... thanks," Jungkook mutters, not looking at her.
Chaeyoung leans in closer and whispers intimately in him ear, "Wanna spend the night together in your tent tonight?"
Taehyung had heard this and gets even more uncomfortable. He doesn't know where to look or how to react. He feels like a third-wheel.
Chaeyoung takes no notice of Taehyung and moves her hands all over Jungkook's chest and arms.
"Uh...," Jungkook stutters. He does kinda like the attention he's getting. He's never had any attention before. His thoughts have a war with each other.
Come on, Chaeyoung actually is hot
No! What am I thinking! Imagine how Taehyung would feel!
It's just one night. I can spend the rest of the nights with Taehyung anyway.
But I like Taehyung. Or I think I do
Ew, I like a guy? No, Jungkook you're straight. Time to have a girlfriend.
But Taehyung's so cute... and I only told Taehyung I like Chaeyoung to see if he likes me back - and I think he does
No - just say yes, Jungkook. You can spend time with Taehyung some time else.
'Team Chaeyoung' ends up winning.
"Sure!" he says, avoiding eye-contact with Taehyung. They walk towards Taehyung and Jungkook's tent hand-in-hand.
Taehyung feels and looks bewildered. Jungkook has left him for Chaeyoung.
Jungkook, who he has always liked, left him.
Maybe Jungkook is oblivious to the fact that I like him. Maybe that's why he left me for Chaeyoung.
Instead of confusion and bewilderment, he now feels angry - a kind of rage that bubbles inside you and can be very dangerous. He doesn't know why he feels so angry.
Jungkook had let Chaeyoung have his tent. Where will he sleep?
His love for Jungkook has turned into despise.
Taehyung runs after them with this new feeling that he has never felt in his entire life.
------
Chaeyoung and Jungkook are already in the tent, Chaeyoung still drooling over Jungkook.
"Can Taehyung stay here with us? I don't think he has anywhere to sleep," Jungkook asks, getting up to fetch Taehyung. Chaeyoung grabs his wrist and pulls him back down,
"You still care about your stupid partner when you have me?" she stares at him almost intimidatingly, but at the same time irresistibly with her big dark brown eyes.
As if hypnotized, he answers, "N-no. But can I tell him-"
"No," she says firmly, edging closer and closer towards him. Jungkook can feel her hot breath on his face now. He wants attention and to feel loved. He wants this.
But at the same time, he sincerely doesn't. He wants to run to Taehyung, wants to hold his hand again, wants to stroke his hair again, wants to hear his cute comments again.
Just as he has his thoughts on Taehyung, someone rips open the tent and grabs Jungkook's neck, pushing him to the floor.
Chaeyoung screams and Jungkook splutters for air. He stares at the face who is choking him.
And his eyes widen.
He is looking at a face with flawless features and soft black hair. His once innocent, caring eyes now dangerous and malicious.
"T-Taehyung?" he splutters, struggling for air. He doesn't believe this. Taehyung wouldn't ever try to hurt him. Sensitive, scared Taehyung wouldn't do this.
Chaeyoung runs away, squealing.
Taehyung lets go of him, malice still glinting in his eyes. Jungkook breathes heavily, his chest heaving up and down.
"W-what," he has a billion questions, but none of seem to know how to exit his mouth, "Is this about Chaeyoung?"
Taehyung doesn't answer him, instead he glares at him, his eyes glowing red. He's the same person, yet he looks so different.
Taehyung does finally speak, but he says something Jungkook doesn't want to hear,
"I hate you."
The words weren't said in a joking manner, the manner in which you say to your friend when they do something annoying. They were said sincerely and bluntly.
Those words hurt Jungkook, hurt more than the sword that slashed him a few hours ago.
What has he done to deserve this?
