A few minutes in and a lot of the bots were still coming.

Seriously where were they coming from?

Talk about obnoxious.

Ultron had cloned so many of himself, if Vanity was a person, he would have put them to shame.

Scarlet and I killed them off fairly easily without having to raise a finger.

Well, I didn't have to raise a finger, but Scarlet still had to, considering she was still unsure as to how to control it.

In fact, she's taken to use this time to practice on them. I watch from where I sat, which is on the ground-- as she floats a bot's head over the wall, around the church and into a metal loop of a structure.

She pulls back her hands, the red glittering in the air. It's clear that the amount of effort alone is making her lose her breath.

"I don't know how you do it." She says out loud, words meant for me.

"Oh, you mean this?" I raise a finger and the sparks ignite around my fingers, blue, green and gold.

The awe on her face is dizzying. I can feel her excitement and her glee.

Despite what HYDRA has made her done, and the choices that she made, there was still this curious child-like part of her.

Innocence.

I can't help but smile. "When all this is over. I'll teach you."

"Thor, I'm gonna need you back in the church,"

Tony's anxious intonnation made me stand up in attention upon hearing it.

My senses alerted me that he was beneath the flying City, directly at the core.

"Tony, what are you doing?" I demanded, feeling him cut the metal beneath and enter the crater with no sense of safety. "That is dangerous, the City will bury you!"

"There's no way the City's coming down Blues." He huffs, recognizing the concern in my tone. "We have to stop it, here."

He was going to explode the City.

I exchanged glances with Scarlet and rubbed my temple.

We may have saved the civilians, but the destruction left behind was still unfathomable.

There will be more casualties.

In the far distance, there was a sound of roaring thrusters. Amongst the rubble, something large was rising up in the sky.

It was the Quinjet.

"Guys..." I watch as the Quinjet flew overhead, circling the area where Scarlet and I was.

My team wasn't piloting the Quinjet, which meant--

Bullets began to ricochet around us as the Quinjet descended. The ground crumbled upon impact, shells and metal shards striking whatever is in its way.

I encased Scarlet in a dome, protecting her, before hurling a piece of debris in its way.

"Ultron's has the Quinjet! I repeat, Ultron has the Quinjet!"

The bullets rain on us again, showing no mercy.

I threw myself away from the fray, ensuring the girl behind me was shielded before I did.

The Quinjet flew past the Church, the thrusters barely missing the structure.

"No, no--" I ran out, watching as it headed back to the life pods.

Where the rest of the civilians were evacuating.

"Does anyone copy, come on!" The comm went static. I tried to tap it multiple times, but it wasn't working.

"If anyone reads me, seek shelter immediately, Ultron has the Quinjet, he's heading for the life pods!"

Growling frustratingly, I'm about to stomp over there knowing there wasn't much time to waste. Could I make it? Could I reach there in time?

A waft of fear blew in my direction.

Scarlet.

She was scared, I could feel it leave her in waves.

Right, I couldn't just leave her. We'll have to get out soon, so she'll have to come up with me.

"Scarlet, come on--" Striding back, I grasp her shoulder so she could look at me in the eye. Her eyes continued to stare in the direction of the Quinjet. She remains unmoving.

I am unaware of the bond branching out, of the bond expanding and contracting.

"They'll take him down--"

Something snapped.

Like a rubber band. Like jolts of needles shoving themselves into my skin.

The bond, once golden and humming, dimmed to nothing but darkness.

Then, there was a deafening silence.

Silence, that seemed to crawl up my spine and choke the breath out of me.

Silence, that seemed foreboding and terrorful.

Scarlet eyes went wide. I could feel her emotions, her energy, fizzling out of control.

I drop to my side, my hand finding my heart. I clawed and scratched but the pain refused to go away.

W-What...

The bond.

I searched it, the thread, the golden line that signified my connection between the twins.

Where is he? I can't find him, where is he?

Desperate. Guilty. Out of control.

I couldn't find him.

There was none. All I felt was her.

"Pietro."

Her voice is scattered.

Lost among the feeling of rage, sweeping within her.

Scarlet shuts her eyes and fell to her knees, a loud inhumane scream escaping her lips.

Swirls of red branch out from her body, crumbling the remaining bots to nothing but pieces.

No. Not like this--never, like this.

Why?

I shut my eyes, head in my palms, allowing the death and sorrow to wash over me.

All those lives, all those casualties, all those people, innocents, friends, family.

Snow White was dead.

No, Pietro was dead.

A/N

I think starting from Age of Ultron, it started getting really dark in the MCU.

Pietro's death was pretty sad for me and considering my character shares a bond with them, obviously she feels affected.

Wanda only has Lorelie now.
