You know that feeling...
When after a long, heated argument of deciding who's right in the fight, you actually get an answer?
And that you're answer, is the one that's right?
What do you feel?
Victory? Smug? Proud? Cocky? Happy?
Maybe all at once.
Because its clear that, that is not how my brother feels.
No.
He feels downright miserable.
The moment those metal doors slid open, I felt his fear waft back at me.
His anxiousness.
His breaking restraint.
I felt it all.
Hell, I could sense it since he landed and yet I didn't say a word.
I stayed still and didn't move.
I should say; "Good for you, you deserved it."
But I think that isn't fair and I should wait till the rest of my team come back so I can tell them that to all their faces.
All of them were wrong.
And I was the one that's right.
Yet, I didn't feel any better about it either.
"The Futurist, Gentleman!" Clint claps his hands loudly, his voice echoing the prison cells where we all remained.
He was hunched over, squatting with a pissed off expression.
"Oh and Ladies too, The Futurist is here! He sees all! He knows what's best for you!"
From my peripheral vision, Tony walks over to Barton's cell, his hand in a sling.
"Whether your like it or not." Clint bitterly growls out, his emotions filling with anger and betrayal at what was once his friend.
"Give me a break, Barton. I had no idea they'll put you here. Come on." Tony sighs, looking over at him with concern.
" Yeah," He spits onto the ground and glares at my brother. "Well, you knew they'd put us somewhere, Tony."
"Yeah, but not some super-max floating ocean pokey." Tony frowns, looking conflicted. "You know, this place is for maniacs. This is a place for-"
"Criminals?" Clint stands up and I didn't have to turn to know where he was going with this.
"Criminals, Tony. That's the word you're looking for." Placing both palms flat on the surface of the barred glass, he peers at Tony.
"That didn't use to mean me. Or Sam, or Wanda. Or, Lorelie. But here we are."
I shut my eyes and mentally screamed at how I felt Tony's emotions flared at the mention of me.
He was hurting.
My brother was hurting and his betrayal still weighs heavily on me yet I want to help him.
"Because you broke the law." Tony announces flatly, covering up his true emotions with attitude.
Clint doesn't buy it. The former spy sees right through my brother just as we all did.
He walks back over to his cell and murmurs a string of grumbled words, ignoring how my brother was talking away.
"La. La. La. La. La."
