He Broke me

The Gender, and other things

Today was my best friends, gender reveal party.

It was fairly cold outside, and I didn't want to get sick.

"Carson, come on babe. We're gonna be late."

I rush down the stairs, "I'm here, and ready to go!"

He laughs and looks at me.

"What?" I say with an attitude.

He looks me up and down, "You're just adorable in your pajamas."

I look down and realized I spent too much time picking my outfit to actually change.

I run back upstairs and put on my gray leggings, and my black oversized sweater, along with my vans.

I run back downstairs, "okay, now I'm ready. Let's go!"

He kisses me on my forehead, and we head over to Alexa's gender reveal party.

The drive was mostly me singing to the radio.

"Babe, you passed it!"

I had said as we passed Alexa's party at the park.

Carlos makes a u-turn, and we arrive at the party.

"Hey, glad you could make it!" Alexa smiles.

We were about fifteen minutes late.

My aunt had left before we did, and she got some side foods for the cookout.

She brought potato salad, baked beans, chips and her famous Italian cheese dip.

Alexa's cousin was grilling out.

"Carson?" Dj had said.

I turn around from talking to Carlos.

"Yes?" I asked.

Dj's eyebrows furrowed, "after this can we hangout and talk?"

I made up a quick lie.

"I have to buy some groceries later, my aunt is struggling so."

He looks down, "oh, I understand."

I couldn't lie.

"Actually I lied, I guess we can hangout. Carlos has work anyways." I mumble.

He stares at me, and notices im about to cry, but I quickly blink away the tears.

"So how are you and shay?" I ask him.

He looks down, "we broke up. "

My eyes widen, "what happened?"

He shrugs, "some new dude came in her life, and she switched up."

Kind of like I did....but you were in love with shay.

"Ouch, we'll we can talk later. I have to go and be here for alexa."

He nods, and I walk off

"Alright anything you need help with?" I ask alexa.

She shakes her head whole stuffing some food in her mouth.

I see my aunt and everyone enjoying their food, and I'm staring off into space.

"Carson? Aren't you going to eat babe?"

I blink my eyes, "not really hungry,  but I will eat something."

I grab a plate and get some grilled chicken, winnies, and potato salad.

Carlos rubs my thigh when I sit back down.

I am getting easily irritated.

"Baby what's wrong?" Carlos asks me.

I shrug. I really don't know what is wrong with me.

We eat, then comes the reveal.

Alexa and Joseph have these balloons filled with confetti.

They gave each guest one and on three we would pop them.

Everyone in unison says, "one, two, three!"

As we all pop the balloons, blue confetti comes out.

"We're having a boy? We're having a boy!" Alexa says.

She had already picked her names out, but that was when she was thirteen.

"Everyone thank you for coming, but it's time to go home." Joseph says.

I helped clean up a bit, then me and Carlos are on our way.

"So what's wrong?" Carlos asks me.

I look down at my thumbs.

"I'm okay. Dj wants to hangout. He umm broke up with shay, and he wants to be friends."

Carlos clenches his jaws.

"No." He says angrily.

My eyebrows furrow.

"Excuse me? Who the fuck..."

I stopped myself. I didn't want to argue.

"You know what. Hangout with your ex. It doesn't matter whether you're his ex bestfriend or that his your ex. Or that you were intimate with him. Oh fucking well Carson."

I let my tears shed.

"I won't hangout with him babe. I don't want to lose you. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me." I studder.

He sighs, "Babe I don't want to lose you either. I just know that you guys are really close.  You can hangout, I trust you babe ok"

I smile, "I have eyes for you and only you babe."

He places his hand on my thigh.

"And you're mine babe. Always."

With that, he drops me off and heads to his work.

Aleana is off to college.

My aunt is always out with my uncle.

I'm home alone most of the time....and I sometimes still feel the pain of him beating me.

Even when he's locked away, I still can't get away from him.

***Alexa is having a boy, Carson feels the aftermath and Dj wants to hangout.

What will happen when they hangout? Will they become great friends again? Or will they become enemies?
