Hey guys! I edited the ending of the last chapter!! Arrow Pack did not kill the Alpha's mate but, they did hurt and kill other members of the Stargaze Pack. Anyway sorry for the hold-up, here's the next chapter!
Asher woke in the same plain bed. It was late in the night. Asher tried to move his head and cried out in pain. His jaw was wrapped up tightly and it throbbed immensely.
"Don't try to move." A deep voice said from the corner of the room. Asher recognized the voice to be the Alpha's. He tried to speak but it only made his jaw throb more. The Alpha got up and walked to the bed.
"Don't try to talk, either. Your jaw has been re-broken so it can heal correctly. Amber, the girl from before, said it will always be a little crooked but it will look better than before." Asher whimpered and tried to move on his side. The Alpha noticed and growled, "Stay put." The Alpha left the room, leaving Asher scared to death of what the Alpha was doing.
He came back with the girl, Amber, she sighed when she saw Asher. "You need to rest, you're body needs time to heal. Even being a wolf you're body still needs time to heal." Asher scrunched his face up when he heard wolf. The Alpha pulled Amber aside away from Asher's sight and whispered something to her. She nodded and turned back around, "You need to rest. Try not to move, right now rest is critical." She left the room without another word.
The Alpha dragged the armchair closer to the bed and stared at Asher intently.
Asher tried to look away but couldn't, he was stuck in the gaze of the Alpha. The Alpha grunted when he saw Asher try to move away from his gaze. He knew his gaze could be daunting. He liked it that way, it showed power and utter control. Asher shifted slightly again and whimpered. The Alpha felt a tinge of sorry for him. What he had ordered upon the young werewolf had almost killed him. Asher's eyelids drooped with tiredness as he looked up to the Alpha. The Alpha was about to say something when Asher's eyelids closed fully.
MORNING
The Alpha was asleep in the armchair, he barely got any sleep watching the young werewolf. Asher had slept through the night soundly.
The door creaked open and a woman stepped into the room. She had long black hair and green eyes, she was tall and skinny, she was the definition of beautiful. She looked to the Alpha and then to Asher. She sighed and slowly woke up the Alpha.
"Dean, honey." Alpha Dean slowly opened his eyes and stood up immediately.
"Did something happen?!" Alpha Dean's voice was hoarse.
"No, honey.. you need to get proper sleep." she said softly. Alpha Dean only rolled his eyes and sat back down in the chair rubbing his stubble.
"I need to watch him." He gestured over to Asher and the woman sighed.
"Dean, he's only a boy. He can barely move. Felix can take the shift for today. Lucifer has been working all morning in your place."
"I've been asleep all morning!? Is the Pack okay?!? Aura?!!" he asked shocked.
"The Pack is safe, Nathan had a fall, it scratched up his leg but nothing else has happened. Lucifer has set up the patrols, etc. He will be a great Alpha one day." Aura reassured. Alpha Dean nodded at her words, their son would make a great Alpha when the time came.
Asher peeked out from under the covers trying to understand the two. He didn't understand what a Pack meant or the patrols.
Alpha Dean looked over at Asher and found his crystal blue eyes staring straight at him.
"Looks like he's awake." Asher pulled the covers down immediately. Aura approached the bed and lifted the covers up gently. Asher looked up at her with his shocking blue eyes. She was astounded by the color of them. Only one wolf had those astounding blue eyes and that was Asher Grey, heir of Arrow Pack. Aura looked back at Alpha Dean, her Mate, with astonishment. She hadn't believed his eyes would be so... magnificent.
Asher's jaw was wrapped up, his hand was wrapped up, his ribs were wrapped, and he had a neck brace on. She couldn't believe the sight in front of her. Asher tried to move away his eyes wild with fear.
"Shh... you're okay..." she soothed him. She gently put her hand on his forehead and he was burning up with a fever. "Dean, he's burning up with a fever. Amber's out helping Nathan with his scratched leg." She worried the fever would get too great for his wolf to keep it down.
Alpha Dean left the room quickly and came back with clothes soaked in water. Aura took the cloths from him and gently set them on Asher's forehead, neck, and wrists.
"I hope this can cool him down enough until Amber can get here." Aura hoped. "Dean, have you mind-linked her?"
"Yes, honey, she's on her way right now. She was at the Great Waterfall finishing up on Nathan." he said, reassuring Aura.
Asher groaned at the discomfort of the fever and tried to sit up but he couldn't. His neck brace was in the way and his ribs were sore. Alpha Dean and Aura noticed, concern filling their eyes. Even though Asher was not their own Pack member, he was still a weak young werewolf needing help.
Asher tried to move to his side but he couldn't move. Aura gently caressed Asher's thick mop of dark hair. "Amber said it was best to keep you on your back." Alpha Dean warned. Asher only whined and whimpered. The cloths soon became as hot as Asher, only adding more heat to the poor boy's fever.
After what felt like hours of waiting, Amber came crashing through the door with supplies. She carefully took care of Asher and a few minutes later his fever was lowered.
"Alpha Dean, Aura, can I speak with you outside, please?" Amber asked politely. They nodded and headed out of the room into the hallway.
"What is it?" questioned Aura.
Amber sighed and began explaining, "Asher needs to get up and start moving. His body wants to fight and heal but Asher isn't fighting. He has given up it seems on life. If he can't start fighting again his body will fail and he will die." Aura looked shocked but Alpha Dean had been expecting such a predicament.
"When does he need to start moving around..?" asked Alpha Dean.
"Right away, his body is starting to fail already." Aura hugged closer to Alpha Dean.
"Dean, he is only a boy.." Aura whimpered. She did not want to see a young werewolf die. Alpha Dean rubbed his stubble thinking. He couldn't let a wolf die but this wolf wasn't any other wolf. He weighed his options and then he made up his mind. He wouldn't let a young werewolf die.
"Let's get him moving then."
