Moonberries

It had been several weeks training with Lucifer and Asher was only growing stronger everyday. His scrawny body turned to toned muscles and a flat stomach. Asher had died his hair a midnight black color and his crystal blue eyes sparkled. Asher had found something to live for: Protecting his pack.

Asher was dripping with sweat as he threw a side-kick at Lucifer. Lucifer ducked under and tackled him to the forest floor. Asher struggled under his grip and flipped them over so he was on top. He threw a punch at Lucifer's stomach as they tossed and turned. Lucifer was able to get the upper hand and hold Asher in a headlock. Asher gave in and fell still, Lucifer smiled as he let him go.

"You're getting there, tomorrow you'll be facing Nick. Nick is about your build and on the same level as you." Lucifer stated.

Asher wiped his face on his soaking shirt and nodded, "Any tips?"

Lucifer sighed and flopped down on the ground with a huff. "He has a big ego, make him think he's in control and when you get the chance strike. That's all I can tell you." Asher nodded and thought about Nick. He had met Nick once on a patrol. Nick had tried to taken the lead and Lucifer had snapped at him. Nick had fell back and cursed Lucifer. He thought he was the best in the pack.

"He's too big for himself..." Skie reiterated Asher's thoughts.

"Tomorrow, we'll practice your front flip kick in the morning and by noon you'll be facing Nick. This is a good chance to show to the senior warriors your worth. I won't always be able to protect you from their wrath." They both chuckled at his words. The senior warriors loved to critique Asher, but Lucifer made sure they wouldn't when he was around. By time Lucifer got done scolding the senior warriors, they were kneeling at his feet and pleading for his forgiveness.

"I know, it'll be a chance to show the pack who I fight for: them." Lucifer smiled at Asher's wise words. Asher was growing as a wolf and he no longer backed away from a threat but rather clash with it. It wouldn't be too long before Asher was a fierce pack warrior with battles to prove his worth.

"We need to be heading back," Lucifer warned, "dad'll have our heads!" Ever since Asher had started training with Lucifer they had grown closer, like brothers. In doing so Alpha Dean and Aurora had adopted Asher as their own pup. Many pack members were shocked, but when Asher had shown his worth by starting at the bottom of the pack and training to protect the pack. Still, many pack members were suspicious of Asher's intentions. Asher didn't mind, he was there to protect his new pack.

"We should bring mom some moonberries on the way home, she can make some jam with 'em." Lucifer thought for a second and nodded.

"On the way."

SORRY short chapter, but we needed a good update on Asher and how he's grown from a trembling wolf to a strong warrior! Will he grow more? Will something happen? The real question is: Will he defeat Nick and prove his worth?! 😵
