Stargaze Pack

The Meeting

It was evening when Lucifer trotted through the thick, overgrown forest. Droplets of rain landed in his thick mop of hair and rolled down his sculpted face.  He was headed to the Stargaze Pack meeting. Everyone in Stargaze Pack was expected to go unless you got sick or hurt. The vegetation and brush was beginning to clear up as he trudged forward. Soon Lucifer stepped out of the forest and into a sunny field. Rays of sunshine hit his body and removed the morning chill from him. Stumps of cut down or fallen trees were used as seats for the meetings. About a hundred people sat on various stumps. In the very front was a built platform of stones and wood. His father, Alpha Dean, stood proudly and fiercely on the platform.  Lucifer's mother, Aura, stood by his side, looking just as confident as Alpha Dean. Felix, the Alpha's Beta stood beside Aura. He had dark brown hair and blue eyes. Lucifer headed to the platform and passed many people. They all gave him respectful nods as he passed. Lucifer jumped up onto the platform and stood on his father's other side. Stargaze Pack looked at Alpha Dean curiously.

"As you may know or seen the incident yesterday, we have been keeping a young, hurt wolf in the clinic. I know many of you are curious as to why. It is my fault that Asher, the young wolf is hurt. I ordered for him to be hurt." Many people gasped at their Alpha's words. Alpha Dean sighed and continued, "It was to protect the Pack. Asher is no regular wolf. I would never order such a thing on a wolf unless it was necessary. I thought it was necessary, until I saw the damage I had done to Asher. Asher is from an enemy Pack. Asher is the heir of Arrow pack." Wolves all around gasped. Felix held up his hand to silence them. "I had that knowledge beaten out of him. Asher does not remember his Pack or what he's done. He is now only a confused and a hurt wolf. I caused him pain emotionally and physically. It is my duty now to help him heal. I hope it will be your duty to help him. I do not believe you're all going to accept him right away, for he is an enemy wolf. He is a wolf from Arrow Pack, the Pack who has killed and injured many of us. Asher is not that wolf anymore, hell, he can't even talk. I have informed you of our situation and I hope you will treat Asher like our own." Alpha Dean bowed his head and stepped back.

Lucifer stepped forward and said, "I was the one who brought him out of his hell my father had bestowed on him. I believed he was a bad wolf, but he is not. I brought him up from his hell and sat him in my office chair and I saw the look. The look was full of sorrow, confusion, and hurt. Asher has endured painful beatings and he will never be the same." Lucifer paused and took a deep breath. "Asher is now only a hurt wolf looking for a safe place. If we were to return him to his Pack they would surely kill him. He is not the same Asher they had raised to kill and be unforgiving but an Asher who is full of pain, forgiveness, and love. I thought it would be useless to bring him up but, when I did I knew it was this Pack's job to heal him as our own. We do not want to be like Arrow Pack and treat him how they would treat me or any one of us! It is our job to show Asher kindness and love! It is our job to not be like Arrow Pack!" Lucifer shouted out. Many Pack members shouted agreement, others shook their heads and cursed at Lucifer. Lucifer bowed his head and stepped back beside his father. Aura stepped forward to speak.

"I don't have much to say. I only want to say that Asher is hurt, he is a wolf like us and he deserves better. I met him only a few days ago and when I saw him, I saw Lucifer. I saw a young wolf like Lucifer hurting. He is just a young wolf." She nodded and stepped back with a tear rolling down her cheek. She quickly wiped it away with her hand. Wolves looked at each other and talked quietly among themselves.

Lucifer shifted and looked to his father. "Dad," Alpha Dean turned to him with an eyebrow raised. "We should bring Asher here, if they saw him maybe they will understand what we're saying." Alpha Dean considered it and nodded. It was their last hope to get the Pack on board.

Lucifer jumped off the platform and jogged to the forest. Once he was under the trees and covered he took his clothes off and tied then around his ankles. When he was done tying them around his ankles he closed his eyes and concentrated on his inner wolf. He quickly and smoothly shifted into his jet black wolf. Mossy green eyes darted to the deepest part of the forest and Lucifer scampered off into the darkness.

Lucifer nudges Asher softly who is sleeping peacefully in a clinic bed. The plain covers cover his mouth below. He nudges Asher again causing Asher to shift and to adjust the covers. Lucifer sighs and nudges Asher harder. Asher's electric blue eyes snap open in fear.

"Hey, it's alright, man. I need you to come with me." Lucifer whispers. Asher shakes his head no in defiance. "Asher, it's very important. You have to come with me if you want to live here safely." he explains.  Asher shakes his head no again. "Please, Asher, I only ask you this because it's important. Please, man." Lucifer pleads. Asher stares at Lucifer considering what he said. He slowly nods a yes and Lucifer smiles. Lucifer helps Asher out of bed and to stand up. Asher tries to step forward on his own but falls, in a swift movement Lucifer catches him and holds him close. "Take it easy, man. You had a serious run yesterday." Asher sighs and holds on to Lucifer like a Koala. Lucifer picks up Asher bridal style and rushes out the door towards the forest. Asher looks to him questioningly  but Lucifer keeps his gaze on the forest. He runs through the forest at an unbelieving fast pace. They reach an opening to a field and Asher gapes in awe at the people in front of him. What seems like millions of people sit before Asher.

Alpha Dean stands on the platform explaining something Asher nor Lucifer can hear. Lucifer wastes no time running and jumping on to the platform. The people gasp as they see Asher, some look away and others stare in awe. Then a fight breaks out in the back and many people join in.

"STOP!!"  Alpha Dean yowls. Immediately the fight stops and the people who started it bowed their heads. Alpha dean scowled at them and they shiver. Asher gapes at Alpha Dean's power. He didn't know Alpha Dean possessed such power over people. The waves of power were radiating strongly off of Alpha Dean and Asher quickly tried to get out of Lucifer's arms. Asher fell to the ground with a thump. All eyes were on him now and he quickly ducked away and behind Lucifer like a young boy.

"Asher, It's okay.. Why did you try to get away?" Lucifer whispered. Asher closed his eyes and rocked himself back and forth. The Pack members all looked at him in confusion. Where did Asher Grey go? Where did the unforgiving, selfish wolf go? Realization finally hit the Pack.

Asher Grey was no longer. A new wolf was in his place.
