•Leilani's POV•

"Please sit," Luke said as we walked into his office. I sat in one of the chairs that were in front of his desk.

Luke walked over to his desk, sat down, and grabbed something in his drawer.

"What did you need to show me?" I asked.

"This," He said gesturing to the black velvet box in his hand.

"What is it?"

He opened the box and inside was a necklace that had a very large, light blue diamond hanging from the silver chain.

"I got you this necklace, so that I know wherever you go, whenever. So if someone kidnaps you, I can find you and save you." He said it like it was a normal thing for people to have a necklace that can track people.

"Ok, so it tracks me wherever I go?" I asked, kind of nervous.

"Yeah it does, that's what I just explained, didn't I?"

"Ok, calm down I was just making sure." I said back with just as much sass as he gave me and glared.

"Why are you glaring at me?" He asked like he had no clue.

"Because you are being sassy and you have an attitude," I remarked rudely.

"Ok well, you can leave my office and hang out with Carter and Carson." He said with a hint of jealousy.

Jealousy?

Why the heck is he jealous?

Honestly, this guy needs serious help from someone that can handle him.

I am so sick of his attitude too, I am so ready to slap him.

He handed me the necklace and I put it on.

After I put it on, I put it underneath my t-shirt.

"Wait, how long am I going to be staying here?" I asked because he never really told me, so I wanted to know.

Also, I stole my dad's car without him knowing and he doesn't know where it is.

"You are going to sleep here tonight and then I can take you back home tomorrow, okay?" He replied.

"Sounds like a plan," I said to him while getting up to leave.

I kind of forgot the way back so I wandered around until I saw AJ in his room with the door opened.

"AJ!" I shout, startling him.

"Woah! Yeah? What do you need?" He asked.

I shuffle my feet. "I kinda forgot the way to the living room."

He laughed, "Come on."

We rounded three corners and then went down some stairs to the living room, where Max and the twins were watching SpongeBob on tv.

I have never let Max watch SpongeBob, because John would yell at me for letting him watch something "stupid" and "inappropriate".

We sat there watching tv until it was 9:00 pm, which is Max's bedtime.

"I have to go put Max to bed so he isn't grouchy," I said, picking up Max.

"Ok, can we help and say goodnight to him?" Carter asked.

"Sure just don't make him hyper," I replied.

"Oh, we won't," Carson said laughing, so I went up to him and whacked him on the back of his head.

I walked away from Carson and towards the room Max and I are sleeping in for the night.

Once Max had finally fallen asleep, I decided that I wanted to get some sleep too.

I laid beside him on the bed and pulled him closer to me.

He snuggled up to me in his sleep.

Carson made Max laugh and not want to go to bed, so Carter thought it was a good idea to slap Carson, but that just made Max laugh more. It took so much work to make him fall asleep.

I couldn't go to sleep, so I just kept thinking about my dad beating me for being gone, stealing his car, and not making breakfast.

It can't help that there are people out in the world that are trying to either kill me, torture me, or kidnap me.

And it's not going to be very fun with any of those options.

I have no clue what to do, all I can think of what John was going to do.

Beat me with a bat again, rape me, try to kill me, or even worse - kill Max.

I could not stop thinking of different scenarios and it scared me.

If I found out that Max was hurt or dead because of me, I might try to kill myself.

If Max dies I don't know how I could live at all.

So I came up with an idea, I am going to ask Luke if Max can stay here for a few days until I figure something out.

He should say yes because he promised that he would make sure Max is safe before I am.

Today has been one of the weirdest days of my whole entire life. If someone told me that in my future, I was saved by Luke White, a gang leader, who doesn't even know who I am, why, I would be shocked.

It wasn't until 3am that I was able to fall asleep.
