It was great having Adrian and Emily back together because to be honest, it’s exhausting. I mean from planning the surprise date and now this, it’s hard work! I must admit I was rather proud of myself for coming up with this one. I called James after I talked to Emily that day and told him my idea. After I went through explaining it all to him, he simply said:

“Wow, that is a great plan but you told it to the wrong person. Here’s Adrian.” I groaned and heard rustling as James handed Adrian the phone. Leave it to James to do that. Typical James. Oh well, still loved him anyway. (They certainly hang out a lot. Oh well, Emily and I do it too.)

    “Hello?” I heard Adrian say.

“Hey, Adrian, it’s Kayla,” I said.

“Hey. What can I do for you?”

“Listen, I don’t mean to come out like this and make you express your feelings, but you like Emily, right?” I asked.

“Yes, of course. I am really sorry for not telling her, and you, of course, but mostly her. Sorry.”

“No, you’re fine. Eh, I’m with James. Anyway, take those feelings and write a song based on how sorry you are and how much you like her et cetera. How would you feel of performing at our work tomorrow?”

“Yeah, I can do that,” he said. “Don’t worry the song will be ready. I’m sure it won’t take me long.”

“Good, then I will see you tomorrow. I’m putting you on the schedule and you will perform at four o’clock. Is that alright with you?”

    “It is.”

“Great, see you then. Oh, and by the way, can you hand the phone back to James?” He said yes and passed it back. James and I ended up talking for a little bit before we said our goodbyes. When we hung up, I laid down on my bed and sighed. Emily better forgive him tomorrow or I’m going to have to do even more to get them back together!

I had a lot of confidence in Adrian and I knew he could write an amazing song that would win her over. And I was right.

At work the next day when he performed, he did amazing! The lyrics were awesome everything went exactly the way he wanted to happen. (Well I wanted it too, of course. After all, I came up with the brilliant plan!) And she forgave him. Phew, my work here was done. (For now.) Who knows what I would have to do next. I was seriously going to celebrate that I wouldn’t have to plan something exciting for the next little while. Or so I thought.

Later that day, Emily called me.

“Hey, girl I have a brilliant idea!” She cried.

    “Let’s hear it,” I said.

“What if you and I planned a surprise date for Adrian and James to make up for hating them for a period of time?” She asked me. Oh geez, well when she puts it like that . . .

“Sounds like a great idea.” I said, while groaning.

“You don’t like it, do you?"

“No, of course I do! In fact I’m so excited! It’s just the planning . . .” I teased. Ugh, I knew something like this would come up. She had to ruin my moment of celebrating my ‘not planning for a while’ thing? Really?

“Oh, boo hoo. You’re going to help me and it’s going to be exciting!” She said.

“Yay . . .” I said so excitedly. (Note sarcasm.) Here we go again.
