Not going to school was actually quite enjoyable. I stayed in my pajamas pretty much all day and did pretty much nothing. (Well, sitting on my bed watching Netflix runs of my favorites shows is definitely not nothing). After I ate lunch, I went right back to my shows. It was quite enjoyable.

After a good while, I checked the time. It was five. I had an hour to get ready for my date with James. I looked in my mirror and frowned. There was no way that James would like me in sweatpants and a random Beatles shirt now, would he? Man, that would be the day. I changed into a plain white shirt and added an infinity scarf to it. I changed my sweatpants into jeans and added a tinge of makeup on to make me look decent at least. My hair was the tricky part. It had a kink in it from my hair in a ponytail so I put it into a nice braid. I was ready to go just as I heard the doorbell ring. I grabbed my phone and a jacket because it could get cold, and made my way downstairs.

“Kayla, your boyfriend’s here!” I heard Owen call. I chuckled to myself and finished the climb down. James looked good in a blue plaid button down shirt and jeans. He was not wearing his usual beanie, probably because it was getting dark outside. He smiled when he saw me approach.

“You look good,” he said, wrapping an arm around me. I smiled up at him and turned to my dad approaching.

“Have her back by midnight at least,” he said.

James nodded. “I will, sir.” James took my hand and I waved to him and my brother as we walked out the door.

“Is he always going to appear when I pick you up for something?” James asked me when we were in his car. I chuckled.

“Probably not. Maybe just for a little bit longer,” I said and he frowned. I laughed again and he started the car. “So where are we going this time?”

“We are going to the mountains.” I looked at him in surprise.

“The mountains? What are we doing there?”

“You’ll see,” he said, smiling at me before turning back to look at the road. The drive to the mountains didn’t take as long as I had thought. We reached it in no time. James then drove up to the very top and parked the car up there. He got out and ran to open my door and help me out. Still holding my hand, we hiked a little ways to a spot where there was a picnic basket and some candles lit. There was actually a bunch of candles lit.

“Hey guys, welcome to the coolest place on earth!” Bridger said. He was standing next to Dallin and Grayson who were smiling and waving. “We hope you like it. It took us two hours to set up.”

“Two hours, to set up a basket that was already prepared mind you, and some candles?” James said.

“Well, we added a bunch more because three candles isn’t going to cut it man,,” Bridger exclaimed.

“Still, two hours?” James gave him a look and he sighed.

“Fine. We goofed off just a little and had to relight them a couple times. No biggie.”

“We?” Dallin said.

“A little?” Grayson added.

Bridger huffed. “Fine! I goofed off and they had to relight them every time. Are you two happy now?” They smiled and gave him a thumbs up and I just chuckled.

“All right, you three, get out of here. We will see you later,” James said, shooing them away.

“Let’s go guys. Our presence is not wanted here.” Bridger started walking away.

Dallin and Grayson followed and Dallin added, “Dude, don’t mean to burst your bubble but it’s you whose presence not wanted here.” Bridger turned around and stuck his tongue out before continuing to walk away. Dallin and Grayson turned and waved with Dallin adding, “Have fun!” before they left as well.
