((A/N: Just to warn you!! There is a bit of a..um...'scene' in this, towards the end. I don't use any graphic words, but they do indeed make love.)

The next morning, Kylo awoke and looked down at Lin. Her pained expression from the night before had turned into an expression of peace. Her chest rose and fell at a normal rate(yes, Kylo was indeed looking at her chest). He received a call on his comlink, and he reached over to answer it. He stayed as quiet as possible. "What is it? Yes, I'm aware that we need supplies for starships...no, I do not have any work to do here today...yes, I will prepare for a trip to Socorro." Kylo turned the comlink off.

Halfway through the comlink call, Lin awoke. She knew what was going on. "You...you have to leave again? Please don't leave me, what if I get attacked again? I-I don't want to get h-hurt again, Ben, pl...please..." Lin's lower lip quivered, and tears threatened to spill out of her eyes.

"Shh shh shhhh, it's okay, no one will hurt you again Lin, I won't let them. I promise." Kylo gave her a reassuring smile, but she shook her head frantically and sat up, moving out of his arms.

"How can you promise me that when you won't even be here to protect me? Don't make promises that you can't keep." An idea popped into Lin's head. "Let me come with you. Please."

Kylo thought about it. She was correct, he wouldn't be able to protect her from people if he wasn't with her, and he couldn't bear to see the poor girl hurt again. Besides, this was only a trip to Socorro, it would be fine if she came. He nodded. "You can come, and I'll keep you safe." Lin pulled him into a hug, of which he returned. They stayed in the hug for a minute or so, then moved out of it. Kylo got up to get changed, and once he was changed, Lin went into the bathroom to change.

In the bathroom, Lin stared at her reflection in the mirror for a few seconds. She looked feeble. Decrepit. Haggard. Her eyes were rimmed red from crying for so long. This was NOT how a leader was supposed to look. A revelation dawned upon the broken general: She had softened in the past few weeks. She had suffered, and that had not strengthened her in any way. Pain made her stronger, but this pain? She felt dead.

At was then that she made a vow: She would not deteriorate further. She would not fall on her knees before Kylo, she would not be the little puppy that had to follow its master. Kylo was not her master, she refused to fall prey before his tricks anymore.

      She would not obey.

She felt a bit guilty about this. Kylo had just saved her from being sexually assaulted, and she was going to repay him by being an awful person.

Lin emerged from the bathroom wearing a faint pink dress created from silk. It was long, but not so to the point that it trailed behind her. Her hair was drawn up into a multitude of braids, all pinned into a large bun.

Kylo held in a breath as she sashayed past him. Was she trying to impress him?

      ...Perhaps.

She was incandescently beautiful, and he was astounded. She knew he was staring, and all she did was raise her chin and place her hand on the door to leave. "Are you coming?" She asked, her voice alluring and cool.

As if she had commanded him, Kylo hastily made his way to her side and left with her to the hangar and his private ship.

The puppy had taken the leash. Miscellin felt in control.

They arrived on Socorro within twenty minutes, and Kylo left to oversee the mining of doonium ore for the starships. Meanwhile, Miscellin left with Armitage off to his room on the planet. This time when Armitage tried to kiss her, she moved away out of instinct. The events from the day before(which shall henceforth be referred to as 'The Incident')had scarred her. Armitage was confused and pressed her for answers, asking why she was so timid, why she didn't want to kiss him.
