*Melissa's P.O.V.*
*Time Skip to 2 months later* It’s now November, Six months I’ve been here, Six months since everything happened. Everything is going better now. Besides winning a contest to not getting any more brutality to both of us, all is well. I’ve slightly moved on with my parent’s loss, I’m still sad inside, but I’m just enjoying everything right now and trying to stay positive to anything that comes in my way. Our bruises and scars have healed, no more pain, and the blotches are going away quickly, some still visible.
School couldn’t get any better too, I just found out that I was ranking at the top of every class I have. It’s really overwhelming really, but I’m not going to be overconfident about this, that’s not good.
Roxy and Sebastian you say? They’re doing okay, Roxy’s still locked up but for like a few more weeks to go and Sebastian…he’s staying away from me, I don’t know maybe he gave up knowing that I’m always with Nathan and not him in anyway.
I can even relate a line from “Les Miserables” to our situation; “Every day you walk, with stronger step, you walk with longer step, the worst is over” I sang that line on the part of Cossette and Marius getting married.
My friendship with Nathan has never been better. We’re not lovers, but more than friends. He (slightly) confessed that he has some feelings for me too, when he said that I felt butterflies in my stomach, but of course it was awkward for both of us, so we decided to stay friends. I think nothing can top him, he’s the best, you don’t see a person like him anywhere. Nobody’s perfect, but he is, for me.
“You got a little cream there” said Nathan while brushing his thumb on my lower lip where I can say has a whipped cream from this Starbucks we’re drinking.
We; me, Nathan, Trixie, and Jay plus other people, are at the school’s field. Luke’s band, 5 Seconds Of Summer, I think, was doing a gig here. They’re pretty good actually, I can tell because Trixie over here can’t stop screaming.
“Thanks” I said when he removed the cream.
“Okay our next song is a new one, dedicated to somebody in the crowd” Luke said and I saw him wink at Trixie, and began playing their instruments. I think their names are Michael, Ashton and Calum, nice names.
“Hey-eh-ey, Hey-eh-ey, Hey-eh-ey” They started singing. Trixie blushing all the way through the song.
We’re just enjoying the rest of the show and headed home after we finished chatting with the band. Trixie and Luke going to the same way home… “Have fun!” some of us called after the two of them, teasingly.
And since it’s getting late we got home, walking to the cold night breeze of November.
“They’re great, aren’t they?” Nathan asked with a small smile.
“Pretty great.”
“They could use a keyboardist” He said, referring to himself as being the keyboardist of the band. “I kind of miss performing.”
He told me how when he was still in his group that they had to travel all around the world to perform. Who wouldn’t miss that, right? I just stayed silent and shared the sadness of missing something, and someone.

“Wake up!” I shouted to Nathan at the kitchen’s counter top. Maybe he got some water and was too lazy to go up to his room again so went to sleep here instead. My shouting did work, his head popped up like there was an explosion, it made me laugh.
“We have school, get ready!” I grabbed the cereal bowl.
“school…”
“It’s like only half a year more then you’ve finished school already, you can take that right?”
