A night to remember. A night that will forever be in my memory. My first Prom.
My prom is slightly similar to the ones you watch in movies; with all the pretty gowns and coats they wore, all the prom dates, the firsts, the unexpected.
I don’t know if I should cry or be happy on what happened that night. When I got home and clean myself up, I laid down and had mixed emotions, I wasn’t sure. All I can say was, it was memorable, very memorable.

“Lissie, come down!” I heard Jess’ voice call from downstairs. I took one final look at myself in the mirror. Wow, I never even thought that I could look like this.
My brown hair is wavy, my eyes are smoky, and my dress is gorgeous. I should really thank Jess and Karen for designing this gown, and for doing my hair and makeup – that I never imagined could even be done on me. With Nathan’s Diamond Star necklace finishing my whole look.
I felt beautiful.
As I went down the stairs, Nathan- wearing the coat and tie that we both picked – was there, looking like the most handsome guy he’s ever been. His eyes scanned me, he gave me that cute little smirk of his that I find overwhelming to be seen.
“How do I look?”
“Better than usual.” Was his complement to me.
“Well, so are you.” We smile for a while and went out the house to go to the venue. Nathan drove.
Trixie and Luke – back from their holidays, was the first to greet us when we went inside. In fact, they were the first couple I saw that night.
“Well, do you look gorgeous tonight!” Trixie – wearing a gown that never disappoints – hugged me, while Nathan and Luke do the bro-handshake.
“You look lovely, Trixie.”
“I am running for Prom Queen – Luke over there for Prom King, too; I begged him, cause, damn” – he pointed at Luke from hair to shoes – “he is hot tonight!”
“He does look great,”
“So, where’s your two dates?” she asked with her silly sneer.
Nathan and Andrew are my dates. Andrew asked me first, and then was Nathan, and I said yes to both of them. They are okay now ever since the holidays and the snowball fight that happened, they hanged around for a few times and they seem to be very good friends now. Two dates is not bad right?
I told them thatI would dance with Andrew at the first dance and Nathan at the last. It was fair enough so they both agreed.
“Nathan is over there and I haven’t seen Andrew yet.” I replied.
The boys went over us and we went to our tables. The venue looks grand; Chandeliers hanging, carpeted floor, the people looking stunning, everything.
The program started with the announcement of the Candidates for Prom Queen.
She started, “If I call your name please go on stage;
Trixie Hernandez
Mary Newtmas
Carrie Night
Celine Conner…”
I was sure that my name won’t be called, there are so many beautiful girls here tonight and the ones called deserve the spot, even Trixie, she’s got my vote. While waiting for the last name to be called, Nathan whispered to my ear a ‘If you get called or not, you’re still my Prom Queen.’. My blush-on makeup seemed useless now.
