*Nathan’s P.O.V*

“Excuse me, Doctor…” I went inside the nearest hospital, Melissa is still in my hands. She’s in a deep sleep, I kept looking at her very scared face, what Roxy did to her was very tough, she deserves to be arrested.

“Yes, sir, oh…” the doctor turned around and immediately called for a nurse when he saw us. I lay down Melissa on the stretcher, gently, and the doctors lead her to a room to heal her.

“Sir..” a nurse called me from the counter. I forced a little smile and went to her. She started asking questions about Melissa like what happened to her and am I related to her.

“I’m her..um..” what should I say? Brother? Boyfriend? We’re not even close to that…might as well tell the truth.

“She’s living in my house.” I said. She nodded and wrote down some more information. She told me to sit down at the waiting area.

So many thoughts clouded my mind. I hope she will be okay. The doctors can fix her up. I just wish that her injury isn’t too dented. The wait is just killing me right now.

I rubbed my hands over my head trying to relax as several minutes passed and I see Luke and Trixie coming near my seat.

“How’s Lissie?” Trixie asked, taking a seat beside me, looking worried as me.

“The doctors are taking care of her.” I said and forced another smile.

“I hope she’s okay.” Luke said, sighing. We agreed.

The time passed by with us talking about how and why Roxy would do this to her and deep inside me, I know it’s all because of me.

“It’s not your fault Nath, Roxy’s just being the mean girl that she is, but she went extreme this time” Luke said patting my back. I just nodded and continued to rub my face, avoiding the tears to escape my eyes. I told them that I don’t want to talk about Roxy anymore because it’s just making me irritated.

Some more minutes passed and the doctor I saw earlier was coming my way, smiling, a sign of good news right? I stood up and greeted the doctor.

“The girl is okay, just a couple of bruises and deep scars; she’ll be alright, nothing major.” He said as gently as possible.

We let out a deep sigh of relief. She’s okay, Thank god… I asked where she was staying and said that we can visit her. So we went to the room she’s staying and after what felt like years of waiting, I finally saw her smiling and talking to a nurse.

“Oh my God Lissie!” Trixie ran up to her and attacked her into a hug.

“Hey Trixie.” She said while giving her a small hug, her voice is still feeble. But it’s good to see her smile and hear her voice again.

I sat there near her bed while Luke and Trixie were talking to Melissa, not wanting to break their conversation. When they were finished, they got out the room to get something, leaving us alone. Finally, our private talk.

“Hey” I said in a low tone, she smiled at me. Before she even greets me a ‘Hi’, the words “Thank You, Nathan” came out of her soft lips.

“Nah, it’s nothing really.” I said, blushing a little.

“No, really, thank you, for saving me.” She giggled. I made a small grin at her and we stayed silent for a few moments, feeling the awkwardness in the air until she spoke in a low tone.
