Chapter 14: Aftermath

Erza sat in Natsu's office after explaining everything to him about the attack.

"The attackers were from Phantom Hive. I saw the emblem on the sleeve of their outfits."

"But something doesn't add up. Phantom Hive would always charge in full force. They would never 'test the waters'."

"Hmm... So the brains behind it was someone else... And this someone knew that their was someone there from our and Grey's company. That's the only explanation for not charging in full force."

"You're right Erza. And tomorrow we need to have a round table conference."

The round table conference meant that companies would gather and think about what to do. It was called for only in urgent situations.

In this case the companies were Natsu's and Grey's.

Erza didn't have school because their department was given a weeks off by Zeref. 

She went home and got a call from Levy.

"Hey Er-chan are you okay?"

"Yeah what about you Levy?"

"Yeah I'm fine too. Hows your injury?"

Erza and Jellal had revealed their identities and explained everything to the class and the department as well.

"Yeah It's fine. I hardly feel it."

"But you know Jellal was a boy and he took care of your fever." Levy laughed.

Erza blushed but then cleared her breath and said

"Yeah so?"

"Oh come on that's how feelings begin." Levy teased.

"Pfft I'm gonna hang up now. See ya."

"'Kay bye you probably have feelings to sort out."

Humph feelings yeah right. Erza thought to herself she had much more to worry about.

The next day everyone sat down on the round table. From Natsu's company Natsu, Erza and Lucy were there and from Grey's company Grey, Jellal and Juvia were there.

"So the attacker was Phantom Hive but who was the brains?"

"Actually the attacker was Oracion Seis. Jellal saw their tattoo."

"Um no Erza saw their emblem." Said Natsu.

"Wait maybe it was both." Interrupted Erza.

"What do you mean?"

"Think about it. The brains is someone else and they were attacking a the university where two undercover agents were present and the security was top notch."

"You're right but who is the brains?"

"There's only one company that could think of a plan this complicated." Said Jellal.

"Tartarus."

Everyone went silent. Tartarus was called the gates of hell known for their delicate planning. 

These three combined meant trouble.

"Well then before they attack us, let's attack them." Natsu smiled.

"For once, I agree with you hothead."

"Who you callin' hothead you ice face!"

"Huh? Ice face?!"

"You wanna go?"

They both had their fists in the air when a punch gave them both bumps on their heads.

"WHAT?!" they both exclaimed.

Then they turned around to find Erza and immediately apologized.

"God you guys never change. To think you had been besties..."

They didn't reply it was obviously a touchy subject for the two.

After everyone went outside Erza and Jellal were the only ones left. Just when she was about to leave Jellal asked,

"How's your injury?"

"It's fine."

"I see. That's good then."

"Why do you care about my injury?"

"Cause it was kind of my fault..."

"I told you it wasn't!"

Erza screamed she wondered why she was so worked up about it.

"But still... There's nothing wrong with a friend worrying about his friend."

"Friend?"

"Let me guess you didn't have any before?"

"Excuse me?!"

"It's fine me neither."

Erza didn't really know how to reply to that. She ended up blurting out,

"Do you wanna go shopping tomorrow since you also probably need to buy a new wardrobe."

What am I saying?!

"Sure. It's a date. Well a second one at that."

Erza went pink.

"It's a joke." He laughed.

"Oh. Right." She laughed too.
