Twilight was busy pacing in her throne room, when a guard pony ran up to her. He was panting heavily from the exertion, but he knew that he only had a blessed few moments before he was captured and tried for wastin his ruler's time.
"Y-Y-Your Majesty," he panted between words. "T-t-the c-chamber hosting Shining Armour and Cadence-"
"What about them?" Twilight snapped, making her impatience known. "I do not have time for any of this-"
"They're gone."
Twilight froze at his words, visibly pealing at the implication. She knew that, should they recover enough, they would be able to challenge and defeat her for her throne, owing to the missing elements, the main source of her power.
Of course, the general public did not know this little fact. She could not have the commonponies rioting against her. She would simply have to kill everypony.
But what will they do once everypony is dead?
That was a question she hoped that she did not need to answer.
"Did those useless idiots for guards even so much as catch a clue or something?" She asked in an irritated voice, masking her fear.
"O-one g-g-guard reported that he s-saw," the guard gulped before continuing. "He saw a f-f-flash of a p-pink m-m-mane..."
"WHAT!" Twilight's voice boomed through the hallways, making all the ponies running around jump before hastening to their destinations, none willing to risk her wrath. She turned to the guard with a sneer.
"Call the messengers," she said dismissively. "I need to speak with my friends."

"Okay," Twilight started. "Is everypony here?"
Twilight stood in the middle of her throne room, eying her friends as they looked around before Rarity shrieked.
"Pinkie!" she looked around as everypony also noticed her absence. "Where is Pinkamena Diane Pie?"
"Last ah saw her was here in this very room," Apple Jack said, looking confused.
"The same with me," Fluttershy murmured.
"Of course I have no idea what happened to her," Twilight muttered. "I barely even leave the palace as it is."
"Well," Rarity stammered, causing everypony to stare at her with raised eyebrows, making her nearly shrink away from the attention. "Since Pinkie and I are both in the same area in Ponyville, naturally we walk home together, so-"
"Rarity," Twilight said, frustrated. "Is there a point to your rambling at the moment? If there is, can you just skip to it?"
