in a alternate universe the avengers and the guardians had beaten thanos, his children, then his army and saved the whole universe from destruction. the guardians were still on earth, or terra as they call it, loki was there too(stephen strange had went back in time and saved him after thor's begging, even though he really didn't want to after the events of the first big fight they had), gamora was too(peter quill wouldn't let her leave his side for longer then a few minutes)
you were in the back, watching as people talked together. like what happened with gamora and peter, steve won't let bucky leave his side, he keeps his eyes over everyone, making sure none of them disappear into dust.
you passed rocket who was talking to tony in low mumbles, probably a plan to take bucky's arm, although they were going to have a hard time getting steve distracted enough to walk away from him. you heard something that sounded like the name sharon carter and you knew that wasn't going to work, not after almost having his best friend die.
you passed another group, natasha romanoff, carol denvers, wanda maximoff(who wasn't really paying attention as she was staring at vision across the room), and valkrie were huddled together trying to come up with a plan to say happy birthday to steve without getting caught up in bunch of drunk men.
then there was steve, stood beside bucky, chatting quietly with him. little did they know a grinning sam wilson was coming up behind bucky with a pair of scissors. right when you opened your mouth to shout something at them to warn them, bucky spins around and grabs sam's wrist tightly and took the scissors out of his hand. he turned back around to continue the conversation he was having with steve with sam sulking away.
you shouted that it was time for the old man to get some cake and everyone around gathers at the large table in the avengers compound. steve sat one of the ends and grinned at everyone that was lining the tables.
you heard rocket mumbled to peter quill that he can't eat a slice since he was one sandwich away from being fat and cake would be a lot worse then a sandwich. long story short peter slapped him and nearly got in a fight if it wasn't for tony slapping both of them over the heads and telling them to shut up so steve could make a wish. plus, there was a few cuss words in there and he wanted to use language as a response just to mess with steve.
peter parker put on some music before joining them. another one bites the dust bursts out of the speakers making everyone glare at him after what had happened. he shrugged his shoulders and said it was fitting.
scott and clint were ranting about the fbi and house arrest before going over to the table. not before scott slapped steve on the back and saying happy birthday, that slap got him a dirty look from bucky, making him rush to his seat so he wouldn't get killed by a former assassin.
once they were all seated steve said that he had all he could wish for. a new extended family that ranged from everywhere over the universe. a few people did cry, like thor(he was still emotional about having loki back and was happy to be back with his midgard family) and wanda(she was still not used being called by anyone that wasn't her twin)
he blew out the 100 candles that was on the large cake(it was tony's idea, one of the only bucky agreed on doing, dr. strange and pepper were not happy to hear this as he was probably going to step the compound on fire) everyone shouted and whooped as pieces of cake started getting passed around. steve raised his glass in a toasted and everyone mimicked the movement.
