"Hi Ma, Pa," he greeted and gave them both a buss on the cheek.
"It's good to see you, anak," his mom said.
"Ma, Pa, this is Maine," Richard said.
"Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Faulkerson," Maine greeted.
Instead of shaking Maine's hand, his mom hugged her.
"It's so nice to finally meet you, Maine. Thank you for dating my son," his mom said.
"It's about time, son," his dad said. "So when's the wedding?"
Oh fuck no, Maine thought.
"Ma, Pa, stop," Richard blushed.
While they were eating lunch, his mom asked Maine a lot of questions about her life.
"So, Maine, what do you do?"
"I'm a drummer," she replied. "I have a band."
"Really?! That's so cool!" his mom exclaimed.
WOW, she thought. That wasn't the reaction she was expecting.
Because usually, when parents of other people meet her, they don't approve of her. They always say it's not very lady-like.
"What's the name of your band?" his mom asked, eyes twinkling.
She should hate me right now, Maine said in her mind.
"Uhm, Royalties."
"That's really awesome," his mom said.
"Since when have you been interested in bands, hon?" his dad asked.
"I've always been interested in them! Hindi ko lang sinasabi sa'yo."
His parents talked and talked. Richard leaned towards Maine and whispered, "See? They love you. There's nothing to worry about."
Oh, 'Chard, but THAT is what I'm worried about. I can't let them like me! I won't be your girlfriend! She thought.
As their lunch went by she knew more and more about her...lies. Maine thought that if she's not gonna be with him, might as well tell them lies.
To be honest, she only agreed to him because he was persistent and she was guilty because she took his virginity.
Maine, lost in her thoughts, snapped out of it when she felt someone tug at her shirt. It was Riley.
"Hi Riley," Maine greeted.
"Am I gonna have a niece or a nephew?"
GOOD GOD WHAT IS THIS KID THINKING?! Maine thought.
