[a/n: This chapter is about Maine's past. The one on twitter was short, and not really the full story. This is also gonna be quite long because I don't want to write another chapter about her past (spell tamad: ME!). Also, Janine because she's Maine's girl crush😊.]

***

Janine, if you'd believe, was Maine's dream girlfriend. She wanted someone who can play an instrument very well, loved the same type of music, movies, and all those things. She also appreciated if the girl knew how to dress herself, which Janine was best at.

How did she have a dream girlfriend? It started when she had a girl crush in high school. Her name was Belle. She was smart, athletic, very much involved in the community, kind, and in the school's band. She played the piano.

At first Maine only had admiration for Belle. But as time went by, she realized she wanted to be in a relationship with her. She wanted them to be together, share hugs and kisses, all those stuff lovers do.

But at that time, she also had a guy crush named Michael. He was the definition of a perfect guy.

This confused Maine even more. She wanted a guy, but she also wanted a girl.

Then she realized it. She's bisexual.

When she told her parents, they didn't take it well. They even went extreme, to the point that she wasn't able to talk to her girl friends. But these actions of theirs made Maine turn wild, like go out in the middle of night without even telling them.

When they realized they can no longer do anything about it, they just accepted it. Good thing Maine went back to her usual self.

When Maine met Janine, she was looking for a band that would take her in as their drummer. She would go to different bars every night, just so she could find a band that was good and would actually accept her as family.

She was struggling to find one until she went to the Royal Bar, where the Royalties band were at.

It was perfect too, because a paper was posted outside telling everyone that they needed a drummer.

She approached the vocalist as soon as they stopped singing.

"Hi," she greeted.

"Hi. What's up?"

"I saw outside that you needed a drummer?"

"Are you one?" Maine nodded. "How good are you? Can you rate yourself from 1-10?"

"I'd say I'm...at 9."

"Good enough," the vocalist nodded. "Show us what you got."

"You mean--in front of all these people?"

"Mh-hm," the vocalist crossed her arms on her chest. "You need to show-off. If they like you, you're in the band. If they don't, then I'm afraid you have to leave."

"Okay," Maine replied and went upstage. The vocalist did the same thing.

"May I get your attention please?" People faced the stage. "This is--what's your name?"

"Maine."

"--Maine and she's gonna try out to be our new drummer. You know the drill."

The crowd went silent and waited for Maine to start playing.

"Wooooooh!" People started cheering and whistling loudly.

"Should she be a royalty?!" The vocalist asked. The crowd said 'YES!'

Maine smiled. She's part of the band now.
