Chapter 6: Mine

The next morning I woke up with a slight headache so I got up, slipped into some pjs, and grabbed the Tylenol bottle off of my dresser and made my way downstairs to the fridge. I grabbed a bottled water from the shelf and took two pills to calm my headache. I made my way back upstairs and my phone started ringing extra loud. I grabbed it and answered it quickly. "Hello", I said. "Good morning beautiful", August's voice said through the phone. I smiled and replied,"Well it sure is a good morning now." He laughed and said, "I called to tell you that I will stop by your house at 2 to pick you up for our date." "Ok! That's cool. I'll be looking forward to our date", I said adding an emphasis on date. He chuckled and said, "Alright ma! See you later." "Alright", I said before I hung up. I looked at the clock and it read 11:45 am. I had enough time to fix breakfast and get dress so I went downstairs and took out some bacon, eggs, and biscuits to eat. I started to cook my breakfast when my ma came downstairs in her robe. "Good morning ma!", I said. "Good morning baby", she said as she grabbed some orange juice out of the fridge. I smiled and kept on cooking when after awhile I noticed that she was staring at me. "Ma you okay?", I said looking at her. She nodded and smirked. "What's his name?", she said smiling. "Who?", I said confused. "The guy that got you feeling all jolly", she said with an eyebrow raised. "Uhm.. I don't know what your talking about", I said acting dumb. "Shonda, you never cook breakfast", she said laughing. "Ok. Ok. His name is August. He's new at school and I'm just being friendly. Nothing more. Nothing less", I said while sitting down to eat. "Whatever, don't forget I was your age once", she said walking out of the kitchen and back up the stairs. "Really?!!", I joked. She laughed and I finished my breakfast. •••• I looked in the mirror at my outfit that I had on. Black leggings that read "Big Booty Judy" on the back in white, a white crop top with no sleeves, and some black vans. I had my hair in a messy bun and had on some silver stud earrings. I looked casual. I looked at the time and it was 1:46. I texted August my address and grabbed my phone, heading downstairs. I began to play temple run until I heard a knock at the front door. I opened it and August was leaning against the doorframe. He had on all black with a red and black varsity jacket and I had to admit that he looked good. I gave him a quick hug before grabbing his hand. He lead me to his car and opened the door for me to get in. I got in as he ran around to the driver's side. "So Auggie where are you taking me?", I asked glancing at him then back at my phone. "Movies and dinner", he said laughing and turning on the radio. "What's funny?", I asked confused. August kept laughing and said,"Auggie? Really?" I laughed and said, "I like it." "Its cute", he said as he smirked at me. I nodded and sat back to enjoy the ride. While we were riding, Dive In by Trey Songz came on and August was singing his ass off. My mouth dropped. Who knew his ass had such an angelic voice. He caught me staring and started to laugh. You like what you hear ma?", he asked. "You aight", I said rolling my eyes and smirking. "I see how it is", he said playing hurt. I laughed and playfully hit his chest. When we arrived at the movie theatre, August and I couldn't decide what to see so we stood there debating for about 10 minutes. We finally decided to see Think Like A Man Too. As the lights dimmed and the movie started, I snuggled close to August and he wrapped his arm around the back of my chair. This movie was hella funny though! We laughed.....a lot. August face was turning red as he literally cried. Kevin Hart short ass had me rolling. After awhile, it began to get chilly in the theatre so August let me wear his red and black varsity jacket. I didn't want him to be cold, so we ended up sharing the jacket. After the movie finish we made our way towards the lobby and out to his car. "Kevin Hart is a trip!", I said getting into the car. "Right! His 4 foot 3 ass is hella funny!", he said starting up the car. I laughed and said, "But who do you think had more fun?" "Most definitely the girls. They stayed turnt", he said adjusting his SnapBack. He licked his lips and pulled off. I couldn't help but stare. He was too damn fine. He turned my way and I quickly looked out the window, hoping he hadn't noticed. I heard him chuckle and say, "Don't be shy." My face turned as red as a tomato and my cheeks were burning like chilly peppers. He laughed and pulled into Apple Bees parking lot. "I'll take somewhere classier next time", he said focusing on where to park. "It's cool", I said shrugging it off. After he parked, we got out and made our way inside and got seated at a table in the back. A waiter by the name of Chanel walked up to our table to get our orders. "What will I be getting you lovely people today?", she said staring August down. "Bitches be like", I mumbled. She rolled her eyes and August chuckled before I spoke up. "My boyfriend and I will be having shrimp with rice and steak and mashed potatoes", I said smirking at August. "Isn't that right babe?", I asked looking up at the waiter. "That's right babe", he said staring at me. Chanel walked away and August spoke up. "So we together now?", he said smirking. "I guess we are", I said smiling back. I leaned in and he leaned in and we were seconds away from kissing until someone said, "Here is your food." I looked up and saw Chanel and I rolled my eyes. Why did she have to ruin the moment her gorilla looking ass! August laughed and we continued to talk as we finished our food. ••••
