"Hokage-sama, I'd like to request a C-Rank mission." Naruto said as he stood in front of the three Genin. Iruka looked shocked, then angry.

"Hokage-sama, these are fresh Genin! They still haven't even completed the necessary 30 D-Rank missions, and now they want a C-Rank mission?" He said as if it was the most ridiculous thing in the world.

"Iruka," Naruto began. "Shut up."

"Who do you think you-"

"A Jonin, you better stand down Chunin, or that silly pony tail of yours will be cut off before you can even blink, and mother wouldn't want that, oops, too soon?" Iruka was seething. How dare this boy mock his mother? Even in death!

"You son of a-" Iruka began, taking out a kunai before he found a single sword at his throat, a sudden burst of wind going behind him from the impact of sword going through the air. The wielder was none other than Naruto, his once blue eyes turned green with black slits straight down the middle as his eyes were narrowed.

"If you try to do anything like that again, I'll give you an even worse death than your parents." Iruka gulped as a bead of sweat went down his face, everyone's eyes were widened, but Hiruzen's eyes were the most widened at the sight of the Jonin's eyes.

"Naruto!" He yelled. Naruto instantly looked away, his eyes turning sapphire blue once again.

"I apologize Hokage-sama, but a word of advice, keep your Chunin in check."

"I'll keep that in mind." The older man said dryly, a sigh escaping his lips. "Permission granted for your C-Rank mission, Gopher, please send in the bridge builder." An Anbu with a gopher mask on appeared and bowed before he walked out the door, and then came back in with a man who's hair had turned grey due to a mix of stress and old age. He had on a brown vest with a pair of dirty white shorts and a white rope tied around his head with a pair of glasses on the tip of his nose. He also had a sake bottle in his right hand, and the way he was standing, he had a drink or two from it.

"What? I thought I paid good money for a team of ninja, not some snot nosed brats who can barely hold a knife." Naruto held Kiba by the hoodie of his overly large jacket as he tried charging the man, an awkward smile on his face.

"You won't need to worry bridge builder-san, my team should be able to defend you against a couple of mercenaries, you needn't worry." The man looked skeptical before sighing.

"I hope you're right, the name's Tazuna, the Master Bridge Builder." Naruto smiled.

"A pleasure, my name is Naruto Uzumaki, and these three are Sakura Haruno, Kiba Inuzuka, and Sasuke Uchiha, my three Genin."

"No offense, but aren't you the same age as them? How can you be the leader, or a teacher whatever, to kids your own age?" Naruto deadpanned before looking back at Hiruzen.

"I told you this would happen Hokage-sama." Hiruzen only smiled as a bead of sweat went down his forehead.

"Sorry Naruto-kun." He apologized, but everyone knew he didn't mean it. Naruto sighed.

"I am the same age as them, actually, the black haired one is older than me, as much as I hate to admit it." He glared halfheartedly at the Uchiha, who smirked. "But, I'm stronger than what you would assume to believe, now, what time would you like us to meet you at the gate?"

Tazuna looked up at the clock on the wall of the Hokage Office, squinting a little to get a better look, before sighing and rubbing a hand through his grey hair.

"About an hour from now would be nice. I would like to go back home to Wave as soon as possible." Naruto nodded.

"That'll do!" He exclaimed before turning around to his genin. "This is going to be our first real mission together, I want you to pack two weeks worth of clothes and a tent because it'll take us about a day or two to reach Wave at a walking pace, meet us at the gate in one hour or you'll be doing suicides for 8 hours when we get back." He said cheerfully before disappearing in a shushin.
