for jeno, he didn't really care about being committed to a relationship. he wanted to experience "loving" different people all the time. when he was in the relationship with jaemin, he did admit it was pleasant being with him, but he just got bored of staying with one person for a long time.
when jaemin left, jeno did fell a bit hurt, but not heartbroken like jaemin. everyone thought of jeno as a heartless person, and they weren't completely wrong. but the thing is, jeno didn't choose to be like this. he got influenced by his dad. jeno's dad would go out to the club and get drunk, come back with a new girl everyday. this happened when jeno was still a newborn, so he never understood what actually happened. jeno's mother never showed that she was hurt in front of jeno, which is why jeno doesn't know the damage he's doing to people. one day, jeno's mother said she was going out with friends but she never came back. jeno was 2 at the time. jeno is now 18 and still doesn't know where his mother is. he did miss her since she was his mother after all.
jeno didn't know doing what his father was doing was bad since his mother never told him not to do it, so jeno just assumed this was normal.
jeno slept with nearly everyone in the school, excluding some people that were smart enough to get away and not fall for his looks. it was surprising no one would educate jeno not to do these things. his looks and visuals were keeping people from telling him off, even teachers.
jaemin had tried to educate him, but it never worked. jeno seems like a sweet innocent person when first meets the eye, but really he's a heartbreaking monster. someone had to bring out the best in jeno. that someone would have to be someone jeno loved dearly. someone who saw through jeno. jaemin did, but for some reason it didn't work. it had to be a new person.
jeno's next target was renjun. jeno genuinely found renjun cute and something about renjun was different to jeno then other people he targeted. jeno wanted to get to renjun quick, so thats what he was going to do.
